If signed into law, this will mean war.

Consider it done. My understanding all that is left is for it to go to committee to reconcile the house and senate versions and then onto the President for signing. Think he will veto?

Time to let all 60 here from us. Both from NC jumped on the band wagon. UPDATE: 60 senators betrayed you (it was 61, but Sen. Menendez changed his vote). They voted against an amendment to the Defense Authorization act, the indefinite suspension of Habeus Corpus. We are now officially a police state. Read the Amendment provision here. The house version of the bill is available here, 920 pages. Senate text is available here and a PDF of the full senate bill is available here, 682 pages. The amendment to the Defense Authorization act (the Udall amendment) would have removed some of the more draconian measures of the bill. To clear up some of the confusion, Sen. Udall was the good guy here. We need to remember that the text of the bill would have provided issues for people who had not been legally found guilty (no due process), just suspected. If we look back at our recent history, we can see similar legislation being misused to silence political dissidents. Are you calling for the Federal Reserve to be abolished? Are you a John Bircher? Like the Tea Party better than Occupy or vice versa? Who knows how it can be misused. Not trying to be more alarmist than needed, but we do need to remain vigilant. Ignore your rights, and they will go away. Their names are as follows: Read more: wearechangetv.us/2011/11/61-senators-betrayed-you-today-they-authorized-the-indefinite-suspension-of-habeus-corpus/#ixzz1fIGJaLwh

Guys They don't work for you. They are members of the board of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Inc. You are trying to rebirth a dead thing. It is time to start thinking like a Free Person not a Corporate Entity. It is time to reduce the scope of your interest from sea to shining sea to my land and those around me. What is going on in my County and how can we make it better. There are things going on that will take care of the Corporation and it won't cost you one life. Their own self confidence is soon to make them extinct. Then those mealy mouthed Senators and Representatives will be sneaking back to lick the hand they bit just last week. Yahweh will give you the answers if you just ask.

call my Congresswoman & talked to her Chief of Staff today on how she See's this bill in the Sen. & how she where she stands on giving the military essentially Police State authority. His reply, if it were to stand as is & passes congress it thus becomes LAW, we must "ABIDE by the LAW. If then it goes to the Supreme Court & they ruled it Constitutional then we must ABIDE by the law. He then stated "Courts have the final word, we must follow the courts decision, whether the People think it's Constitutional or UN Constitutional", we must ABIDE by the court. This is the mind set of the Chief Staffer of a conservative Republican. Oh yea one more thing, he also stated "No individual has the ability to over turn the Supreme Court. My response was have you heard of the Declaration of Independence.

Sword-At-The-Ready swordattheready.wordpress.com/2011/12/01/more-chess-pieces-move-obama-lawyers-say-u-s-citizens-are-legit-military-targets/More Chess Pieces Move – Obama Lawyers Say U.S. Citizens Are Legit Military Targets Obama Legal Vultures say Citizens can be targeted for killing if they are at war with US government. In conjunction with the post below, todays offering from the Regime is a statement from Obama’s “National Security lawyers” that U.S. Citizens are legit military targets if they are at war with the country: WASHINGTON (AP) — Top national security lawyers in the Obama administration say U.S. citizens are legitimate military targets when they take up arms with al-Qaida…. ….Johnson said only the executive branch, not the courts, are equipped to make decisions about who qualifies as an enemy. I have no problem with our armed forces taking out any American Muslim engaged in combat against them overseas. They are, what we at one time would call traitors – and deserving of the consequences they earn by going to war against us and our troops while allying themselves with the Jihadist enemy. Two disturbing things to note: 1 – Obama wanted Jihad terrorists to be tried in U.S. Courts at taxpayer expense and given a trial – even though they are NOT U.S. Citizens. Obama even wanted 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed to have a public trial in NYC. But Obama now wants the military to be used to kill American Citizens ANYWHERE on his orders?? Anyone slightly bothered by this? Anyone see what is being set-up against us by this regime? 2 – Given his regimes continuous efforts to refer to TEA Party Conservatives as ‘Terrorists”, it is NOT a stretch to see that this chess piece being moved into place is being put there for use AGAINST ANYONE OBAMA DECLARES AN ENEMY. I will again refer to the quote from the official of the Obama Regime: “only the executive branch, not the courts, are equipped to make decisions about who qualifies as an enemy” Let that sink in. They assert ONLY Obama, not the courts, not Congress – are ‘equipped’ to make decisions about who qualifies as an enemy.

I remember Gingrich making a comment at the last debate that it was legal to take out an enemy combatant who is working to destroy the US. If you drink the kool aide of NeoCONS/DeceptiCONS then it is perfectly alright to trample on a few rights here and there in the name of security. I was taken in by this thought pattern immediately after 9-11 but then came the Home Land Security squads, TSA and the Patriot act and slowly but surely I had to say WTF. Home Land security has already named their lists of extremists and once labelled an extremist it is just a short hop to enemy combatant. This has all the indications for getting real ugly....

This is our "Intolerable Act". "The Intolerable Acts or the Coercive Acts are names used to describe a series of laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 relating to Britain's colonies in North America. The acts triggered outrage and resistance in the Thirteen Colonies that later became the United States, and were important developments in the growth of the American Revolution." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intolerable_ActsWe must not tolerate this, we must fight this, we must never give in to this, no matter the cost, no matter the hard ships, no matter the length of the struggle.

OMG. I just watched Senator Paul get grilled by Monica Crowley sitting in for Bill O'Reilly for his over reaction to the bill. Senator Paul was one of only seven who voted no. Looks like the great conservatives of our time would like to paint Senator Paul with the same kook brush they have used for Congressman Paul.

He held his ground and basically said that we needed to be concerned over the preservation of liberties of American citizens. He did as well as you can expect when a Fox host talks over you and interrupts.

Deal Reached on Defense Bill Authorizing Indefinite Detainment Without Charge or Trial. The Hill Reports that Congress has reached a deal on the passage of the 2011 Defense Authorization Act discussed here. Most notable is that supposedly they are “changing the language in the Section 1031 Clause about U.S. citizens being detained indefinitely without changing the bill’s core language”. Right. Read that again. What that says to me, knowing how the Ruling Class likes to remake and redefine plain language, is that they are going to “redefine” the language in section 1031, so the indefinite detention of American citizens without charge or trial will not sound as bad – but it will not change the core intent of that clause in the bill. They will still have the power to make anyone they choose, disappear without charge or trial. The bill will just not sound so bad when they vote on it, and they can claim that the bill does not say what it means. In addition, at the demand of Obama, the Chief of the National Guard is to be elevated to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The only other hair-raising comment came from RINO/Lib John McCain – who opposed the elevation of the chief of the National Guard to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the following about the deal struck; “They won” . swordattheready.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/deal-reached-on-defense-bill-authorizing-indefinite-detainment-without-charge-or-trial/
