There has always been the Law of Unintended Consequences and it can tear at the very corners of the fabric of reality. For over 100 years we have stripped away Liberties and freedoms. We can blame no one because we did it in the most part to improve our lives or our safety.
"Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin
After 911 we in fera for our sfaety opened the door to unshackled monitoring of citizens who were supected to be terrorists and also agreed to the indefinite prevetative dentention of such suspects. Problem is who now defines just who is a potential terrorist is and how far are they willing to push the limits of what we accepted as a nation after 911 when in fear we wanted to be protected against Radical Islamic Terrorists. Yes it could be you and it could be me. The real truth is that a plane went down in a field in PA once Americams knew what they were up against. It did not take legislation that took essential Liberties from us to stop those terrorists. it just took some everday Americans to decide, " Let's roll."

You know, if TPTB would use these unconstitutional powers to fight terrrist or crime I would not have a problem with them listening to my calls or reading my e mails. But they are using them against honest pple to secure and preserve there power. So we have a problem, I guess its true, power does corrupt. Cant even give law enforcement a leg up. I truely believe law enforcement is fighting crime with 1 arm tied behind it back. Such a pitty. All of it. Guess ole Ben was right even after so many years, its still true. Those boys were really ahead of their time. God could we use a few of em now.

Such people are all around us, especially on boards and forums like these, and make no mistake about it, the Patriots of today are fighting for the same goal as they fought for back then... Freedom.
