‘Gunwalker’ Scandal and the Case for Impeaching HolderWhile Holder didn’t pull any triggers, the Department of Justice was involved in Gunwalker from the beginning.June 25, 2011 - 12:00 am - by Howard Nemerov A detective assembles a crime’s “history” by collecting and examining evidence, which eventually leads him to the perpetrator. When sufficient evidence points to a reasoned conclusion, perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted in court. Crimes consist of means, motive, and opportunity. So it is with ATF’s Operation Fast and Furious, also known as “Gunwalker.” Violent crimes committed with Gunwalker firearmsBesides Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s murder, “Mexican officials estimate 150 of their people have been shot by Fast and Furious guns.” This indicates at least 150 incidents of murder or attempted murder. While Holder didn’t pull any triggers, the Department of Justice was involved in Gunwalker from the beginning. The Washington Post notes: “The ATF became part of the Justice Department after Sept. 11, 2001….” pajamasmedia.com/blog/%E2%80%98gunwalker%E2%80%99-scandal-and-the-case-for-impeaching-holder/

Why were we not up in arms about the bush administration doing this when it started? Was it merely because bush wasn't blaming us for the guns going to Mexico? The maobama administration simply expanded an already existent program. I found this story quite interesting from Michelle Malkin..... michellemalkin.com/2011/03/30/project-gunrunner-obamas-stimulus-funded-border-nightmare/First, some background. Like so many border programs run amok, Project Gunrunner was the spawn of Beltway bipartisanship. It was established in 2005 as a pilot project under the Bush administration and run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The intended goal of the program’s sting operations: stop illicit firearms trafficking along the Southwest border through close surveillance of undercover gun purchases and coordinated intervention with Mexico. The deadly result: federally sanctioned gunwalking of high-powered weapons from U.S. officials right into the hands of drug cartel killers. By 2008, Project Gunrunner’s bureaucratic fiefdom had expanded rapidly along the U.S.-Mexico border and into the nine U.S. consulates in Mexico. The office raked in $2 million more through the little-scrutinized Merida Initiative, which Hispanic vote-pandering Republicans rammed through in a war supplemental bill. Despite warnings from the DOJ inspector general that tracking and assessment measures needed improvement, the payroll exploded from a few dozen to more than 200 by 2009. Under the Obama administration, ATF reaped another $21.9 million to expand Project Gunrunner (nearly half from the stimulus boondoggle), and the White House has requested almost $12 million more in fiscal year 2011 appropriations for the program.

What about the Iran-Contra that kept President Regan and Col Oliver North and Admiral Pondexter on the edge of their sets. What we have here is just the tip of the guns market. Remember Chavez has allowed th Russians to build an AK factory in Chile. We suspect the gun grabbers and all the time it as just the new program. I suspect that by now they have a new on up and running.
