Wow! If the NRA really holds to this belief I could find it in myself to support them monetarily again. Time will tell though, but I am hopeful that their declining membership numbers have woken them up to what we gun owners expect from the pre-eminent gun owners group.

Same here, I'm a GOA life member, and was even supporting the NRA again. I quit after their treachery in the Veterans Disarmament Bill - www.newswithviews.com/Pratt/larry81.htm. I supported the NRA for many years and even had high power certification under them. But I cannot support a group that is not working in my interest... Since they took a hard beating last year for their support of liberal democrats and not standing up for our Second Amendment Rights unless the membership beat the crap out of them first, I'll cautiously keep an eye on them. Have they learned their lesson? Time will tell. I give them ZERO financial support and my membership to the NRA expires next year... depending on how they start acting, decides whether I continue as a member.

When LaPierre is gone and a real strong leader is in charge at the NRA, I will think of supporting them again.
Till then LaPierre should hold his breath. If he can't I would suggest he get a rope and use it to help him hold his breath.

NRA Refuses to Meet With Obama on Gun ControlPosted on March 15, 2011 at 5:24pm by Meredith Jessup Meredith Jessup On Tuesday, officials at the Justice Department met with gun control advocates, answering President Obama’s call to put aside “stale political debates” to begin “a new discussion” on ways to better enforce and strengthen America’s existing laws in the wake of the Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson. Missing from the dialogue, however, was the National Rifle Association (NRA) who pointedly responded to the president’s invitation: thanks, but no thanks. “Every single day, America is robbed of more futures. It has awful consequences for our society. And as a society, we have a responsibility to do everything we can to put a stop to it,” Obama wrote in an op-ed published Sunday in the Arizona Daily Star. “Now, like the majority of Americans, I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. And the courts have settled that as the law of the land. … However, I believe that if common sense prevails, we can get beyond wedge issues and stale political debates to find a sensible, intelligent way to make the United States of America a safer, stronger place.”... I actually hope the CCRKBA gets the slot, at least they wouldn't softball the admin and its anti-gun lackys, while begging members for funds "to take the fight to Obama!"
