Thought i would share here the email rant I sent to my contacts that just refuse to prepare. By now they have come to roll their eyes.....but enjoy and use if you want.
In our day-to-day life we assume certain obstacles will meet us at some point. Some of those obstacles are minor such as, the Starbucks-is-out-of-frappa-mocha-caramel-fluffy-syrup again, ruining my day so some twit can get his vente-no-whip-quad-vanilla-breve-latte and go about his day without a care in the world! But I am stuck drinking a regular coffee. Unfortunately there is no “Coffee Insurance” to provide me with any security whatsoever to mitigate the risk of not starting my day out with a pure caffeine glucose buzz; which I am sure the FDA will somehow steal that joy from me somewhere down the road! So, as I got in my car this morning I realized that one obstacle that I could face today is for the person behind me in line at Starbucks to back in to my car because he didn’t realize, you can not hold a girlie coffee drink in one hand, text in the other and pull out of the parking space! Thank goodness I have car insurance. I don’t expect to have an accident everyday but it is comforting to know that my asset is protected. Same goes for Homeowners insurance, don’t expect to experience a fire everyday, or life insurance, don’t expect to die everyday, of course thinking about it, that’s not possible. Or health insurance, which if I am not careful could explode into a rant about the awful-tyrannical-Obamacare-program sure to mean our destruction by having TSA officers provide next year's physical! I don’t expect to get sick everyday, but I have it just in case! Anyway, you get my point (I hope) that we buy insurance not in the hopes that we will use it, but it gives us a peace of mind that should something happen I have something to lessen the financial burden. If I told you one day that I don’t believe anything such as, car accidents, house fires, burglary, illness or death will every happen so don’t buy insurance, you would problem say, “Tyson is delusional again!” Then you would tell me all the reasons why insurance is important and no one should proceed through life stupid with their head somewhere it does not belong. (This would be affectionate-tough-love speak for Get-your-head-out’er-ass) Thankful we do not experience this everyday.
But there is one thing that you will experience each and everyday. You can not avoid it. You wake up with the feeling, the feeling probably hits you around noon and then again in the evening. That is right food fans, Hunger! You can not avoid it; your body lets you know when it is time to eat. So if you know this is a daily obstacle, if you will, then imagine if one day the grocery stores had no food left on the shelves, imagine that groceries prices rose 50%, 100%, 300%. Will your wages from your employer keep up with that rate of inflation? Well food fans, if you will buy insurance for an event that may never happen, such as for your car, home, health, life why would you not also buy insurance that evidence is already pointing to that most likely will happen, Food Inflation. I sent everyone an article yesterday from Bloomberg talking about Rice prices increasing 300% in the next 18 months. If Rice was gold that means going from $1400 per ounce to day to $4200. Corn prices are going up 75% next year, Wheat prices going up 50% next year. So to those that say “Tyson is delusional!”, ask yourself this why are you continuing to pay for life insurance,? You won’t need it you’ll be dead, what a waste. Does that make any sense? How much do you spend in Life insurance per year $500? Car insurance $1600? Homeowners Insurance $1800? Health Insurance $7000? In total you spend almost $11,000 in insurance for life events that may never happen, and better yet they only give you a sense of peace, there is no return on investment. You will say it is smart to buy insurance for these things that may never happen yet ignore that fact that at best food prices are going up dramatically, not to even venture into the possibilities of financial collapse, societal crisis, hurricane, snowstorms, etc., but not food. The chance of you needing your homeowners insurance in the next two years is just as possible that we will have a major financial collapse or worse. So why are you not storing food, since you will be hungry each and everyday? Now who’s delusional? No one should proceed through life with their head somewhere it does not belong. Spend $500 and store at least one to two months of food. Be a defender of your family, plan to overcome the obstacle of hunger in case of emergency, don’t be a sucker having to depend on the government for your meals.
