An absolute MUST read. Without this mindset, we are doomed.

While I hope things like this will never happen. I must be prepared to protect my family and myself at all cost!
EDIT:
After thinking on this for a few minutes I think I have a good plan.
First of all we have allot of very good patriots in LEO positions. It is out duty to build bonds in the LEO community. In doing this we can effectively make friends that would otherwise be a enemy should things like this start happening.
The other thing is we need to join the local sheriff's reserve deputy squad. Now if you do this you will have even closer bonds because you will be a brother LEO. You will also have inside details on things going down and can spread the word to fellow patriots. You may also be able to influence fellow officer's thoughts on what their job really is. You may even be able to put a bug in the sheriff's ear that he is the chief LEO for his county and everything must go through him. Also telling him he is the last hope the people have that guard against a oppressive government.
And if all else fails YOU CAN RUN AS SHERIFF! What a better way to preserve your area's Liberty!

Unfortunately in the last 10 years or so, a lot of Sheriffs Depts across the country have made it a "requirement" that you have a "background" or "degree" in Law Enforcement to even run for sheriff, which is total B.S., basically keeping it in the good old boys club...

The sheriff here stated that he would close down the county as far as movement in or out in the event of a collapse.
