I am writing this because over the past few month we have heard a lot about fairness and justice, in the above link, there are 9 definitions of justice, I added the first definition above.
The word Fair is only mentioned once in those 9 definitions of justice and it it refers to a quality of fairness, not justice. As with many words, justice seems to be watered down to include fairness, but justice has nothing to do with fairness, it has to do with mindset and a personal moral code, which unfortunately, our country seems to be lacking in. Justice is about wearing the white hat and doing the right thing, no matter the consequences or who disagrees with you. When you determine to do the right thing, you make yourself a target for others, that would rather do the easy thing, the fair thing.
The doctrine of "fairness" in this country has become the thought process by which it is okay to lay down and let your moral compass take the easy way out. When a fight for right or wrong rears its head, it is easy to take the course of "fairness", however, that does not settle the case for right or wrong, the issue remains, it is just that in "fairness" the fight for the right thing has been deemed "not worth it".
I submit that the case for right and wrong is always worth the effort and cost. I further submit to you that justice is equal to doing the right thing at all times. To do the right thing is always the hard way, but it is always just, not fair, fairness is the easy way out.
It is time for the common people of this country to become just again and do the right thing. The just thing is to stand and defend the legacy of the children in this country, to allow them to have the same freedoms that we have enjoyed, and we allowed to be whittled down inch by inch by those that would see us give up what we have earned through hard work and diligence in the name of fairness. Defend our Constitution, pick up your pen, use your keyboard, meet others in your town or city, gather together and get active. Remember, a group of just people have more chance of changing things for the good than 1 just person alone.
Our forefathers and children deserve it.
