Letter written for all its worth. Deborah Wasserman-Schultz will use it to blow her nose. But it is in her mailbox.

I'm still a little disgusted that the vetting process doesn't already cover this. The POTUS has access to "Eyes only" security for our entire Country, but we don't even ask for their ID beforehand?

So what, we've just been taking candidates' word for it that they're natural born us citizens? This is insane!! This bill needs to pass! We should have been doing this all along.
I have a friend that was in the military that couldn't get a Secret clearance just because his cousin was the prime minister of a foreign nation (some south american country...I forget which one). But we can put a man in charge of the free world without doing even a short background check? Lame!!!

The President HAS to be a US Citizen. We don't need a bill, we need ENFORCEMENT! He/she is REQUIRED to be a US Citizen so the requirement to PROVE IT is de facto.

What makes anyone think these slimeballs will pay any more attention to an amendment when they won't follow the Constitution to begin with. I don't see it even getting to a discussion in the committee. It's going to die right there.

Have we ever had a non-native born citizen even try to run in the past? I guess the Founding Fathers thought that it was enough to put it in the Constitution. Article II SectionI No Person EXCEPT a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President. Seems clear enough to me.
