For those not sure about the security of their computer privacy, here are a few tools that can help to maximize your safety on the WWW. I use these 100% of the time and have had no problems.
They are free to download and use. Check 'em out.
1) Peerguardian 2
phoenixlabs.org/pg2/
PeerGuardian 2 is Phoenix Labs’ premier IP blocker for Windows. PeerGuardian 2 integrates support for multiple lists, list editing, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), making it the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P.
2) Mil Shield

Cleaning up the history of your activities completely and safely is impossible without specialized program because most of the tracks are not visible by any standard means and can not be removed manually. This process must be performed every time you use your computer. Mil Shield automates this process while giving you the opportunity to choose the types of tracks that you want to clean. Mil Shield can also run invisibly in the background and is able to clean the tracks whenever you want.
3)Ixquick Search Engine
www.ixquick.com/eng/protect-privacy.html
Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data are recorded. Your search terms, the time of your visit, the links you choose, your IP address and your User ID cookies all get stored in a database. The identity profiles that can be constructed from this cloud of information represent modern day gold for marketers. But government officials, hackers and even criminals also have an interest in getting their hands on your personal search data.
And sooner or later they will...
------
These are just a few. If you know of any other privacy tools, please add them to this thread.
Also, if you know of any issues dealing with these free programs, please post a review. Thanks!
Enjoy!
