America to hand off Internet in under two monthsBy Rudy Takala, 8/16/16 11:58 PM The Department of Commerce is set to hand off the final vestiges of American control over the Internet to international authorities in less than two months, officials have confirmed. The department will finalize the transition effective Oct. 1, Assistant Secretary Lawrence Strickling wrote on Tuesday, barring what he called "any significant impediment." The move means the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is responsible for interpreting numerical addresses on the Web to a readable language, will move from U.S. control to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a multistakeholder body based in Los Angeles that includes countries such as China and Russia. Critics of the move, most prominently Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, have pointed out the agency could be used by totalitarian governments to shut down the Web around the globe, either in whole or in part. www.washingtonexaminer.com/america-to-hand-off-internet-in-under-two-months/article/2599521

Leaked Soros Document Calls For Regulating Internet To Favor 'Open Society' Supportersby Tyler Durden, Aug 29, 2016 7:10 PM The Obama Administration says that the transition will have no practical effects on the internet's functioning or its users, and even considers the move necessary in order to maintain international support for the internet and to prevent a fracturing of its governance. Oh really? Civil society groups and activists are calling on Congress to sue the Obama Administration -- perhaps at least to postpone the date until more Americans are aware of the plan. However, never one to miss an opportunity, The Daily Caller's Peter Hasson reports that: www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-08-29/leaked-soros-document-calls-regulating-internet-favor-open-society-supporters

I fully expect the Republicans to do exactly what they have been doing the entire time... Fully fund (and tacitly support) the obama agenda. Congress has just one month to keep the internet under US controlBy: Nate Madden, August 30, 2016 Both houses of Congress are out of session for another week and time is rapidly running out for lawmakers to save the internet. When Congress comes back into session next Tuesday, it will only have a few short weeks to accomplish one of the most important tasks before it: ensuring that control of the internet does not fall into the hands of those who would actively censor it to the detriment of free speech and American interests. On Sept. 30, the United States is poised to hand over control of the internet to the United Nations, following a years-long push by the Obama administration, after the Department of Commerce sub-administration signed off on the final plans to hand over control of the process on Aug. 16. If the handoff goes through, the U.S. will no longer have controlling power over its own invention. This leaves Congress with just a month to block the effort, as they have in previous sessions... www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2016/08/congress-has-just-one-month-to-keep-the-internet-under-us-control

Obama won the election he gets to set his agenda. said my worthless Senator Isakson, who has passed most of obama's trade deals and confirmed many of obama's judicial picks either by a yes vote or just by not standing in the way as the socialists roll 'em on through into their lifetime appointments. With history (even recently) as a guide, the GOP will enevitably do what the Republicans do best... sit on their hands, and let the obamanation roll forward. Will Republican leaders rubber stamp Obama’s internet giveaway? [Updated With Cartoon]Posted on September 22, 2016 by Paul Mirengoff Congress is ironing out another of its continuing resolutions. Conservatives led by Ted Cruz are insisting that the resolution include language that would block the transition away from U.S. oversight of the Internet’s domain name system. Donald Trump has backed Cruz in this fight. Why is ongoing U.S. oversight so important? Because, as Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, says: www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2016/09/will-republican-leaders-rubber-stamp-obamas-internet-giveaway.php

YOUR Republican's in action... Congress Sleepwalks As U.S. Loses Control of InternetBob Barr, Posted: Oct 05, 2016 12:01 AM If one were to count how many times in the last 40 years Congress has passed -- on time -- all the appropriation bills necessary to keep the government running and avoid a government “shutdown,” you would need but one hand. Only four times in four decades (1976, 1988, 1994, and 1996) didCongress successfully manage to complete the task for which the Constitution grants it exclusive power – appropriating the monies needed to fund all federal agencies and programs. This inability or unwillingness to do its job speaks volumes about the lack of leadership and resolve by what our Founders considered to be the most important of the three branches of the government created more than two and a quarter centuries ago. townhall.com/columnists/bobbarr/2016/10/05/congress-sleepwalks-as-us-loses-control-of-internet-n2228161?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&newsletterad=
