For the last several years, we have been living in a false bubble of hope that has been fueled by massive amounts of debt and bailout money. This illusion of economic stability has convinced most people that the great economic crisis of 2008 was just an "aberration" and that now things are back to normal. While on the subject of Italy let me suggest that if you want to see the Vatican in all of it's splendor instead of it's burnt out shell go this month. Once the amount of money that is hidden there by richies from around the world is leaked to the Italian people, and that they pay no taxes on this money while the people have had their benefits cut off in an effort to keep the nation solvent. I think the prophesy that the Vatican will be sacked this year may get more credible.
