I agree with the Firefighter. The cops had a duty to try to bring him in, not to just burn the place down around him. Like the Firefighter said, if you want a safe job do something else. I think what Dorner did was disgusting, and evil. However he still deserved a trial, they gave Manson a trial.

It will be entertaining to see what they say about any active resistance to tyranny should we have to go that route.
Dorner was a Left-wing nutbag. He was killed by the power structure inherent in a Left-wing totalitarian State for his daring to point out their internal dirty laundry.
These people are just this dangerous. On both sides- Enforcers and those giving the orders. No matter how fluffy a public face they put on...

What I learned from this.
1. If one armed man can do this to half a state. TPTB do not stand a chance if 100, or 1,000 rise up in each and every state.
2. Be smart, running without a plan is stupid. If you get to a safe place, hide till the pressure is off.
3. Work on wilderness skills, so you can stretch things out till they loose heart. Rudolf did this, but did not have the skills for long term survival, and had to go dumpster diving and got caught.
4. Never give up, and go out fighting. They will try to burn you out, be prepared.

Wonder why they didn't use a drone strike? Could have been shown as an excellent show of power!

As soon as he boxed himself in, he was done. Should have driven straight to the tall grass and disappeared for a short while.
NEVER engage an opfor on their terms, just like breaking an ambush, you stand a much better chance rushing the into the fire, mix it up amongst them and withdraw in the confusion.
As my tag line reads: "Nothing says F#%* yo' OODA loop like a butt nekkid dude leaping in the middle of your group to strangle you."
Get through their hasty skirmish line and you can work 'em from the flanks, or lay in distance.

Av... Doesn't that also put you outside of familiar territory too though?
Bug out, let major search ops die down, come back in on home turf. Leave.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
His whole op looks like a single plan. Something went wrong and he had no back up plan. Him torching his bug out vehicle kinda gives this away. Would you torch your truck with gear still inside it? Occam says it broke on him and he had a panic moment.

Av... Doesn't that also put you outside of familiar territory too though? I'd Rather deal with unfamiliar than be dead. But that also ties in with a post I made a few days ago, you should be familiar with all the different area's in and out of your immediate OP Area.

However we are making some reaching assumptions. 1. That this is as simple as a Cop getting even with his supervisors. 2. That the guy in the cabin was really who they say it was. 3. That Dorner was they real shooter and not another Red Flag from the start. Remember the other link on the board where he stated tot he media he wasn't even in the state. Then you have (http://nesaranews.blogspot.com/2013/02/dorners-mom-whats-up-with-this.html) Hmmmm! Toasting Dorner as the title is a bit sick don't you think.

Interesting conversation and yet me thinks we are not yet close to the truth and may never be. I for one think Toasting Dorner has a two fold message. If you hear that I have gone on a rampage and get eliminated in a way that makes most evidence unidentifiable please come up with a similar catch phrase and I will rest easy.

I skim-read Dorners unedited manifesto. He was a Leftist enforcer through and through. He felt betrayed by his Kind in the LAPD and like a typical liberal... Blamed them for all the ills in his pathetic life. Far from being "articulate" and "intelligent", his writing shows the ignorant lack of knowledge and dearth of logical thinking I've come to expect from "that side" of the political spectrum.
He was part right.
I'm wondering how systemic this is across the Nation. For every good Sheriff or PD... How many LAPD wanna-be's are there? Enough to be a serious issue? Or are they pretty much centered in the large City concentrations?
Society falls apart, and it's cracking now, and large Cities will look like World War Z hit them.

Remember the "Body of a dead enemy always smells sweet." Titus Flavius Vespasian The only way you can make that seet smell is if you are still in the fight.
