Women Shot During LAPD Ex-Cop Manhunt Had No WarningJudge, Jury, Executioner Rules and regulations go flying out the window. SOP must have changed? Better to kill innocents than actually do your job and VERIFY before pulling the trigger. After all, they'd make up some kaka-maney story and probably get away with it. co-ironwill.blogspot.com/2013/02/women-shot-during-lapd-ex-cop-manhunt.html

I don't know what they would have feared from those shot. I believe they were mainly pissed at seeing their buddies getting killed day after day by mines and so forth, but seeing few enemy combatants. Not that it was right, but the saying back then was that the Koreans only took hostile fire from a village once, since if they did, they would level it.

Met a guy in Bankok a few years later. He had left the unit a week before. He explained that everyday when the patrols left they could count on one shot from the Vil. They called in a search and no one heard or said anything. In his last 6 months there had been 8 men hit and dozens of dented helmets. He took part in one early morning search before the patrols left and there were only women and children in the Vil. They claimed the VC had taken all of the men. When they tossed the huts they found no men's clothes, but a few loose rounds of 7.62. He said the day his chopper left it took 3 rounds from the Vil and went back to search a bit and saw only women working the fields and none running or hiding? He said a letter he got from a buddy indicated the ARVIN LT that complained was a recent transfer for political purposes. He personally thought it was staged to get an out from Vietnam for the Politico's.

I wasn't aware that it was broken by an ARVN and a quick search turned up nothing.....?
He personally thought it was staged to get an out from Vietnam for the Politico's.
I wouldn't know.

The killing of women and children in that village is not acceptable. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_MassacreI can't imagine how it felt to not be able to go after who has been killing your friends, but that still doesn't excuse the murder of children. Just as Lt. Calley and Charlie Company was not justified in killing 300+ people, neither is opening up on the wrong make and color of truck in LA. Both are stupid and wrong, but the killing of 300+ at Mi Lai is worse than the shooting of two women in the wrong make and color of truck in LA. Everyone is scared, being stupid only makes the problem worse.

They shot the lady! How stupid do they think she is? Who would take the truck from the people who just shot you?

Oops, our bad... Police Raid San Bernardino Apartment After Dorner Callby Sara Welch, KTLA 5 Reporter SAN BERNARDINO (KTLA) -- Police evacuated an apartment complex in San Bernardino early Sunday after a report that fugitive Christopher Dorner was hiding there. Tenants awoke to a swarm of armed cops circling Eureka Manor in San Bernardino. It all happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday at 1525 E. Eureka Street. The raid was captured on cell phone video obtained exclusively by KTLA. SWAT officers stormed a corner apartment as helicopters flew overhead. As a precaution, police ordered residents out through back windows. The Dorner sighting turned out to be a false alarm -- prompted by an apparent prank call. ktla.com/2013/02/10/police-evacuate-san-bernardino-apartment-after-false-dorner-sighting/#axzz2KcwlGSFP

Brock The ARVN Lt attached to the platoon for the search was the one who filed the report in Saigon about the operation. If you remember the Company Cdr flew around overhead in a chopper but saw nothing. I served under Calli's buddy in Germany and he swore it was a setup.
