I ran across a quote of Robert Heinlien.
"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”
I thought it fit very well in our time.
There are rules, laws, and other things that are intolerable, that are obnoxious to the point of becoming disgusting to men who value Liberty and Freedom.
When we face those type of rules we must face them with a clear conscience, knowing we are standing for Right, for ourselves, and others futures. Just as Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and other founding fathers, believed they fought not just for their Freedom, but future generations Freedom. Not only in America, but around the world. We must know we are doing the same.
To put it simply, "Resistance to Tyrants, is Obedience to God". We must obey God's Laws, not man's laws.
The last quote was Jefferson.

You may believe you are free, but it is an illusion, and EVERYONE that selected "I Am Free" knows this. Sure you have the "Freedom" to violate "laws" you feel are unjust, but defy them without true "Liberty" and you can re-write the constitution and the declaration on your jail cell walls. You are not "free" when the State can snatch you without cause, without warrant, without judicial protections and/or oversight, hold you in secret, and completely incommunicado while your interrogation takes place... Amendment IV Search and arrest
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Amendment V Rights in criminal cases
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb, nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Amendment VI Right to a fair trial
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed; which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defence. ...call it what you will, but it is not freedom.

Agreed, we are not Free or as Free as we use to be. Yes we have the right to ignore the rules or laws which binds us, which gives us a false sense of of Freedom.

I am free. They, no doubt, will take steps to try and stop me.
So be it.

You miss the point. It doesn't matter what Law they pass.
If it is an unjust law, a free man will ignore it.
He is responsible for his actions, not only in obeying the laws, but in ignoring the unConstitutional ones.
Right now, I choose to bey certain laws, I do not agree with to protect others. I do not want to see my family facing any armed sticks at our front door. To protect them I obey those laws at this time.
I will ignore them, when the time comes. That is the freedom part, it is my choice.
