Over the past 4 years I have seen the same thing reflected in the workplace because of the extension of unemployment benefits. Did that help or hurt? Well I can tell you as the co-owner of and VP of Operations for a small manufacturing company that the only people I saw coming in for interviews for the most part were people whose benefits had run out. There were a few exceptions but the majority of people preferred to sit on their collective butts and live off the rest of us than to go to work. As one "gentleman" told me when I was asked by a friend to speak tot hem about work, "Why should I get up everyday, pay for gas to drive to work and spend 40 hours working when I can sit at home and collect my unemployment. All I have to do is work a couple days a week under the table and I make more by not working."
It appears this is what the majority of Americans have become or are becoming. Fug em...

Okay Mr Factory owner! Let me put this out from the other end of the stick. When you established my (the worker's) rate of pay it was based upon your expenses to pay me and the work I would perform. One of those expenses was your portion of my "Unemployment Insurance Premium". Yes! I used that dirty word (Insurance Premium). My Unemployment checks are based not on my fellow worker/ neighbor's taxes paid, but on my "Entitlement" based upon what you reduced my pay by to allow you to pay into the system. Just like the portion of my Social Security you have to pay into my SSI and my Medicare. There was a planned point of balance when it started, but the states politicians have used that also to get reelected. So if I pay, by not drawing, my Unemployment Insurance Premium that you pay it is mine. So if I find that I can live better on the Insurance than what I make it is just my belief that it is mine like the Social Security I draw is also mine. When my benefits run out I go back to work and pay into the pot and wait for the next time you lay me off and I again collect my premiums back.

One of the reasons I do not hire treacherous dogs in tin foil helmets like you is now clear. When the system was set up it was not intended to carry people for 2 years. it was meant as a buffer to carry you over between jobs while you actively sought new employment and they used to actually make sure you were seeking new employment or dropped you from the rolls. Like welfare and yes social security the system was not set up to provide support for 2-25 years. That may be the fault of politicians seeking votes but that does not free an individual of the responsiblity to provide for himeslf and his family. That is why we are going broke. It used to be that personal responsiblity and pride kept people from leeching off the system. Further more Mr. Factory owner says my business exists to make a profit and to provide for the continuation of that business and its stock holders. It does not exist to serve the state or even its employees. It does serve the state through threat fo force and has served it employees but only because it makes good business sense to do so. thus providing a stablized well trained work force. I have increased the number of my employees by over 25% in the past two years while others have been laying off. I as an employer who does the right thing and practices better methods and can grow my business even in a tough economy still pays in that money which then goes to pay off those others have laid off. It is not kept in escrow for my workers shoudl they ever need it and most certainly whiel paying benfits for an extended two years probably betters the chance when and fi I do lay soemone off then the money I paid in will not be there for them. The government demands that I pay in that money becuase they believe that you people are not responsible enough to take care of yourselves by putting money aside for a rainy day and the same for Social security. Hurricane sandy probably proves they are right as the peopel gathered in the street after complaining the government was not there for them fast enough. I would gladly do away with Social Security that I have to pay for every employee in addition to their protion along unemployment insurance and every other demand of the government. I would gladly in exchange for that freedom from tyranny negotiate a higher salary for those who agree to work for the company. I believe it just might have been the Apostle Paul who said: 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

BUT in defense, that may have been the initial plan, but now they TAKE my funds to help pay for this mess, should I not recover anything that was stolen from me?

It was originally called Relief. Gave you some relief between jobs.

what we all need to understand is that the tern Insurance which used to mean a contract between an insurer and an insured is now only a new tax. It is agreed to by those who benefit but, like property taxes, do not pay. This is why I have been working since my retirement from the Army and have only on three occasions been EMPLOYED. That is how I have been able to meet my goals. When we all begin to understand that we are human beings and not Corporations we can truly be free. At the first NCPATCOM we were all challenged to pull our money out of specific banks. I had already done that 6 months before. My rational was that if I only make 1 to 2 percent on deposits while the bank can loan 9/10 of every dollar I deposit and get up to 6% interest why am I helping. If every patriot were to close all but a local Credit union where they put up $100 for free checking and other services the major banks would have closed last year and the homes they are foreclosing on would still belong to the people. PersonalyI look online the last day of every month to make sure my Retirement check is ready for deposit. Then at 9:30 I go pick it up in total less what I owe for my gas card. I repeat this on my Social Security deposit day. They don't get to use any of my money until April 15th. How can we claim to be ready to shoot and scoot if before we depart with our BOB we have to stop by the ATM?
