NSA Whistleblower Details How The NSA Has Spied On All US Citizens Since 9/11Michael Kelley, Aug. 24, 2012, 1:19 PM 12,514 Binney details how the top-secret surveillance program, the scope of which has never been made public, can track electronic activities-phone calls, emails, banking and travel records, social media-and map them to collect "all the attributes that any individual has" in every type of activity and build a profile based on that data. "So that now I can pull your entire life together from all those domains and map it out and show your entire life over time," Binney says. www.businessinsider.com/nsa-whistleblower-william-binney-explains-nsa-surveillance-2012-8

"The danger here is that we fall into a totalitarian state," Binney says. "This is something the KGB, the Stasi or the Gestapo would have loved to have had."
And now it should become increasingly clear that it does not matter which of the two parties win this fall. The abuse of power even in the name of security will happen and with the ability to collect and collate 100 years of data on every citizen we are certainly on the pathway to fulfill George Orwell's vision in "1984".
"The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”
“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.”
“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”
