Interactive Map: The U.S. Shooting Epidemic
By Brian Abelson & Michael Keller
Friday's horrific shooting in Aurora, Colo. - one of the deadliest in U.S. history - has reignited the debate over gun control in America. Just how bad is the problem? Through media reports, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a nonprofit lobbying group, has compiled a list of 431 shootings with more than one victim since 2005.

THE KLECK (AND GERTZ) STUDY ON FREQUENCY OF DEFENSIVE GUN USES People who want to ban guns or types of guns dig out statistics about the fact that guns of certain types are used to kill "x" number of people per year, or are the instruments by which "y" people per year are accidentally killed, or are the instruments by which "z" people per year are injured purposely or accidentally, etc. The gun controllers look at society's costs of gun existence, but they ignore the benefits. Those defending the existence of guns point out defensive gun uses (DGUs) as being one of the benefits that should be considered in deciding whether guns are, on net, good or bad.gunsandcrime.org/dgufreq.html[/blockquote]

U.S. Murders: All 13,636; Hands and Feet 801; Assault Rifles: less than 348It is often said that guns, particularly assault rifles, are designed for one thing, and one thing only: to kill lots of people.
Assault rifles in the United States are failing miserably in this purpose. There are tens of millions of assault rifles in America. Because the definition of an assault rifle has been rather fuzzy, the number can be said to be anywhere from 10 million to 30 million. Of those, the AR-15 type is fairly common with numbers between 5 and 10 million.Good one and posted. forum.opencarry.org/forums/showthread.php?105365-U-S-Murders-All-13-636-Hands-and-Feet-801-Assault-Rifles-less-than-348&p=1797734#post1797734
