While posting I used the term "Freedom and Liberty" which got me thinking... Freedom vs Liberty
Freedom and Liberty are two words that are often confused when it comes to their meanings and connotations. Actually, there is some difference between the two words. The word ‘freedom’ is generally used in the sense of ‘independence’. On the other hand, the word ‘liberty’ is used in the sense of ‘right’. This is the main difference between the two words.
Freedom is meant for the country as a whole. In other words, it is meant for all the people that constitute a country. On the other hand, liberty is meant for an individual. In other words, an individual fights for liberty. This is another important difference between the two words.

"Any group or “collective,” large or small, is only a number of individuals. A group can have no rights other than the rights of its individual members. In a free society, the “rights” of any group are derived from the rights of its members through their voluntary individual choice and contractual agreement, and are merely the application of these individual rights to a specific undertaking... A group, as such, has no rights." -- Ayn Rand
I would go one further in reference to a government be it municipal, county, state or federal. They have no rights period. They have duties and tasks that should perform under the direction of and with the approval of the individuals that they represent, ie. the consent of the governmed. They have no right to my income or any of the toils of my labors except for that amount that I have agreed to make available to them in order to fund the tasks that I believe they should perform on my behalf.

Bravo Michael However in defining this you also pointed out who is taking away our rights under colour of local laws, ordinances, statutes, and enforcing them with men wearing guns. This is the level "We the People" need to stand up and say no!, but this is where "We the People" are most vulnerable. It is easy to join a Militia to defend our nations borders since there is no opposing army. Just the low paid mercenaries employed by the City, County and State to keep us separated by distance and by keeping our families hostage where they have more access than we do. Here in North Carolina they instituted a statute that if we owe the City, County, or State for fines, Taxes, or services that they can actually foreclose on our property. They can do this just like the Mortgage companies do for loans. WITH OUT A TRIAL as required by Article 6 of the Constitution! Yet we still worry about who gets to be the President of the Nation. Remember it has been said by many, but done by few. Help starts at home!
