TSA to conduct about 750 'voluntary' assessments of surface transportation organizations per yearBy: Jacob Goodwin, Tue, 2012-05-29 10:25 AM TSA is planning the beef up some of its existing security assessment programs for highway-related truck and bus operators -- as well as public and private bridge and tunnel owners -- by making approximately 750 face-to-face "voluntary" visits to such transportation organizations each year to review their current security programs and suggest best practices they might adopt. www.gsnmagazine.com/node/26449

I am at the point of making a major decision. I have had to fly for business reasons over the years many times. I have at times made an average of 2-3 flights a month and more over seas than domestic. Recently not so much and almost all domestic. I have decided that if I can absolutely avoid it I will not fly and the last couple of times I got a clean pass with no pat down and no scanner. This will not last and it will not go well if I am subjected to a pat down. I don't like the idea of being more than an 8 hour drive from home and I sure do not want to be stuck where I cannot make it back to my family unit if needed.

I have decided that if I can absolutely avoid it I will not fly With many thousands of logged flight hours and many more thousands of un logged flight hours... I have not set a foot on an aircraft since the TSA was stood up... and I won't. I will never voluntarily surrender my 4th and 5th Amendment rights, I listen to people bitch about the TSA day in and day out, yet like good little lemmings they line up for their "security scan" before hopping on the aircraft. Principles are not just for when its convenient.

I had the opportunity to travel to Germany a year ago with the wife and son for his spring break/Graduation from high school. Knowing that they were to visit Dachau and I would have been greatly moved at this experience, I declined because of the TSA bullshit. As much as I wanted to go, I could not compromise my convictions.

Michael It won't work. The TSA is now joining with the State Reserves, DHS, and local Law enforcements into a team to do rest stops on the interstates.

I simply refuse to fly unless its a matter of life or death. Otherwise, I stand on my beliefs. I refuse to voluntarily submit.
The airlines will have to do without my supporting them financially.
