An L&P member contacted us to see if we could confirm a rumor of DHS activity in Missouri to prevent a potential "domestic uprising".
Just a rumor at this point...NO other info is available. Any other members with info, please post here.

Today in my travels around Marietta, I noticed what appeared to be Feds, running multiple vehicles and setting up large tents in a parking lot close to the main government complex on County Services Rd. (Al Bishop Park).
Around ten dark blue unmarked vehicles... SUVs and Vans with the same color trailers, a couple of deep blue unmarked ambulance type vehicles.
The last time I saw movement like this in that area, was during the '96 Olympics
All (including the Ambulance type vehicle) had the LEO blue lights on them.
Personnel appeared to be Spec/Tac Ops by their dress (flight suits with tac gear)
I will try to swing by tomorrow and get a better idea of who they are and what they are doing.

Just spoke to GAPOC, no further info on Missouri.
All members, check your areas, especially around Govt complexes... update as necessary.

Here in the upper Piedmont I have a report from a close friend that he and others have noticed vehicles in this area marked with Department of Homeland Security in the last 3 weeks for the first time. 3-4 weeks ago traveling west on I 40 in the Hickory area as I was heading west I saw two Suburban type vehicles and one large van all black or dark blue with no markings at all but with flashing grill lights traveling at a rate of speed well above normal and they turned north on 321. I sent a message to a close friend who checked with local LEO contact and they were not theirs and they were not aware of them.
This was back 2-4 weeks ago and no more recent reports.

hardtimespreparednessblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/so-i-get-home-from-work-today-and.htmlWTH So I get home from work today and changed clothes. Before I could get started doing what I had planned I had to run back out and get K some fast food as she has not been feeling well. After that chore I got the riding mower out and was cutting the front yard when I thought something was wrong with the mower as it started getting really loud. At the last second I looked up to see a military helicopter flying very low swoop past the property. This unnerved me and I kept scanning the sky as I finished with the lawn. After finishing and putting up the mower I grabbed a beer and went to the neighbors a few doors down. When I inquired about the helicopter they informed me that it was a Black-hawk. One neighbor also stated he had seen one over New Albany across the river yesterday. Now let me explain that we have two military bases in Kentucky, Fort Knox and Fort Campbell. The Air National Guard is also based in Louisville. I have been on both Army bases and I know where they are located. We often see military aircraft here however they are usually very "High" up. This aircraft could not have been more than 500' off of the ground when it went by. My Grandparents bought this house in 1977 and I was a frequent guest (as we only lived about a half mile away) as I was growing up. I bought this house from their estate after they passed in 1993. In all this time I cannot remember this ever happening here. The aircraft was traveling in a direction that was not toward or away from one of the bases or the airport. The aircraft was black in color and had "wings" on the sides that were empty of armaments. It looked more like this Apache than this Black Hawk. What ended up concerning me more is that the neighbors were unconcerned and thought it was "cool". I planted a few seeds with them however I doubt they will sprout without more to get them thinking.

That brings something to mind that I just wrote off a week ago. My son got home from school one day last week. I was at work and my wife had to run out on some errands. He did some homework and then went out to let our mastiff mix pups out of their pens. Just after he did so he heard a low thumping noise and the pups dropped and looked out towards the trees. As my son turned a helicopter came up from below the tree line as we sit on a hill and it came towards the house, stopped short and was tilted towards him. It stayed steady for a short period then turned up right and flew over the house and was gone.
We all talked about it over dinner and he thought it had county markings on the copter but he was not sure but said it was close enough for him to see the people inside for the short period that it hovered. On my way home I heard there was an amber alert in our immediate area so we wrote it off as that.
I am glad I am not the paranoid type because that with some of the reactions from my dogs lately (older ones and the new pups) as they are out and about at times just might make me think that there could be some surveillance going on. May we live in interesting times...

Would it be advantageous to have a category for sightings only, using the SALUTE report?
We should report all abnormal activity.

Dropped back by the Co. Services area and they are all gone... Hmm.
Talked to a couple county guys, who also thought they were Feds, but could not find out who. Their higher ups would just shrug when asked.

Me thinks we might be kept busy much sooner than later...

seen blawkhawks in pairs in Caldwell Co on 3 different occasions in the last 2 wks, Directly overhead, so I couldn't see any markings. One set was so low I went ahead and gave them the 1 finger salute.
