These cookies are a needful and important part of your internet experience. 1. They keep you from logging in every time you access the site. 2. In some cases they are needed to make your information safe from scammers. 3. They are dependent upon the Browser you use. In Mozilla they can be set to be good only as long as you are in the current access. Then when you close your browser they are deleted. If you are running Mozilla from a Linux or Android based machine they can be left to die when the machine closes down or restarts. It is only from Steve Jobs stolen company Apple and Bill "kill off all of the little people" Gates windows that they can become protected by the structure of the operating system. I have run UBUNTU Linux for the past 2 years. I have not had a virus or a Trojan in that time. On my second drive where I keep a copy of Windows XP running I have had 3 viruses and 2 Trojans that I cleaned with AVG Free version. I keep the windows because some of the hardware I own for music is windows based drivers still. Ubuntu will also run from a CD on a windows machine without installing so you can see if you need to wipe the drive and run Ubuntu bareback, or install it as a parallel like I do for special purposes. The two systems are invisible to each other so viruses and cookies can't cross over. Try it after a week you will love it.

Best never to record anything, all browser settings should be no History, Cookies only for session, no Cache, "delete all traces" at browser closure... then close the browser periodically.
I even change the cookie folder to "read only" after clearing it.
