I heard this yesterday and it brought to mind two questions: one where I wondered they might be storing it and two should I have just purchased a 40cal instead of the 45 I just bought.

There will be plenty of .40 cals laying around when you need one. I can't find the scene from "We were Soldiers" I want, but this one is close. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlOxiwGLAkY

I found the SGT Maj Plumbley quotes. Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Seen the new rifles too, the M-16. Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: That's supposed to be a pretty good weapon. Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Ahh, lotsa plastic. Feels like a BB gun to me. Believe I'm gonna stick with my pistol. Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: Think we're gonna get close enough to the enemy to use that? Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: What do you think, sir? Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: I think you oughta get yourself an M-16. Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Sir, if the time comes I need one, there'll be plenty lying on the ground.

Ordinarily, a governmental entity ordering lots of ammo wouldn't be that troubling because after all they do train with it and the best prices come from bulk buys, tax payers would normally be happy about them saving our money. This order just seems a bit over the top even though it isn't 450,000,000 rounds at once, that's the total for the multi-year contract. With all that has been done, maobama resigning the un-patriot act, the ndaa, some of the clauses in the maobama care bill, and the updating of the eo released friday it definitely seems something nefarious is afoot.

Nice expansion. I'm glad our government only buys the best.
