This is from the Survival Blog. survivalblog.com/I like the idea of the micro store, but the idea of just trading for silver is only so so. Why not trade for things you do not have, or just things you want. Think of trading soap for tools that can then be used, or traded for something else. I would also add nails and screws to the list of things to have and trade. If you have the ability to cut timber and make it into useful lumber it would also be a great item to sale long term. I am looking into getting, or building an Alaska Saw Mill for use with my chain saws. A still would also be a great thing to have as most vehicles will run on alcohol, with modification. Making your own fuel and having something to use for sanitation, and medical uses will make a still worth more than silver, or gold.

I really like what the ladies in James Wesley Rawles' latest book did in opening up a barter store based on the large variety of seeds that they had amassed.
