"Typically, I tell people when the police give you an order, that you should follow it, even if you don't like it. We have a process to make complaints if we're not doing our job lawfully."Woman Arrested For Recording Police From Her Front YardPosted on June 22, 2011 at 7:10am by Jonathon M. Seidl Can you be arrested for recording police from your front yard? If the video you're about to see is for real, then yes.
A woman in Rochester, NY was allegedly arrested last month when she decided to film a traffic stop that happened in front of her house. With camera in hand, she reportedly stood in her front yard and filmed the events. But after recording for a little while, eventually an officer started addressing her, telling her that he didn't feel "safe" with her recording him and telling her to go into her house. She refused, saying she had the right to record from her front lawn. He disagreed. That eventually led to her arrest: www.theblaze.com/stories/woman-arrested-for-taping-police-from-her-front-yard/

The officer used the excuse, "I don't feel safe with you standing behind me, I don't feel safe".
That sounds legit, but I think he was lying thru his teeth. Will this be the new excuse used to make you stop recording.

I am investigating the costs of some security cameras that record to a hard drive from my house with out me being there. the card for the computer runs about $159.00 from MCM electronics and comes with 4 all weather cameras. The software will allow me to access the computer from the Internet and allow me to control the cameras from my smart phone. Arrest my house will you!

Wouldn't be any "thinking about it" on my part. Women Arrested for Recording Police from Front Yard Plans to Sue Rochester P.D.Posted on June 28, 2011 at 6:35pm by Tiffany Gabbay Emily Good, the woman arrested for filming police conduct a routine traffic stop from her own front yard won a victory in court Monday when charges against her were dropped. The judge, district attorney’s office, mayor, and local police chief all felt there was no legal basis to pursue the case. Good, whose stated reason for filming the traffic stop was that “three white officers were stopping a young black male,” is not giving up her fight against what she considers police misconduct and might even sue the Rochester police department... www.theblaze.com/stories/women-arrested-for-recording-police-from-front-yard-plans-to-sue-rochester-p-d/

I saw something today that they let her off and are investigating the officers that did that and the officers who were ticketing cars at her neighboor's house when they had a meeting about the incident. I think public pressure works, sometimes.
