Shut It Down!
I had an interesting discussion with some folks last night and was wondering the thoughts of those here.
We basically decided that although there were going to be serious problems, the best, and most direct way to the restoration of the Republic was to let the government fail and shut down.
Now keeping in mind that this was a HEATED discussion at a bible study which included a LEO and 2 former service members among others...it was a good conversation. We had discussed the need for prayer for our leaders as the headlines were begining to discuss who was responsible for the goverment shut down. All at the table agreed that we should not for any reason extend our debt or prolong the inevitable.
I would apprecate hearing your thoughts.

For the most part, I agree, however, there are some very vital things that need to continue, a couple of things that I can think of that must continue no matter what, are vet benefits and so called social security, mind you, this is just my opinion as to what should continue no matter what, and a long term shutdown may have unintended consequences like the UN being alerted and called in to "Keep Order" , again, only my thoughts and I am a lot more ignorant on this than I like.

Vets services, SSI, welfare, medicare/caid, military operations do not stop when the government shuts down. Those are deemed vital services so they are not affected by a shut down. Also, this type of shut down will do nothing to help restore the republic, we would need a total meltdown for that to happen (fingers crossed) There are other services that still continue during a shut down but I don't feel like looking them up right now. The only real effect of a shut down would be for the national parks, the Smithsonian, etc... shutting down. A bummer for sure for those in the district of criminals for the cherry blossoms, but so be it. I do find it kind of comical that the demoncraps are already looking to blame the republikrats for a shut down when they had TOTAL control of BOTH houses AND the white house and still DID NOT pass a budget! Remember folks, this budget is for LAST year! I wish I could just keep spending money I do not have and then worry about it next year!

They could collapse parts of the system to allow a UN intervention, but it would not be needed and would show prior intent. That would mean it was a UN coupe. We know what our response would have to be in that situation.

I would again ask each of you to please call your senator / representative in Washington and let them know to shut it down. The GOP is hatching a plan to extend things a week. TELL THEM NO! TELL THEM TO SHUT IT DOWN! Please and thank you. www.senate.gov/index.htm Richard Lugar 202 224 4814 (Indiana) Dan Coates 202 224 5623 (Indiana) Larry Bucshon 202 225 4636 (8th Indiana)

Not only shut it down, but stomp on it's throat until it remembers just who We the People really are.

I'm probably not making any new friends in DC by demanding in the strongest possible terms that they stand their ground and make the kind of cuts that will mean REAL fiscal strides in restoring and balancing our budget. Especially when I remind them that we are still watching them and they can be voted out of office as easily as they were voted in.

Buchon's office did not like being reminded that Larry was sent to do a job. Funny how damn quick they forget who sent them.
Called all three of the dogs again this morning.
They really don't like it when you hold their feet to the fire.
