During our trip to D.C. the wife got a "REAL" experience with the REAL/PASS ID program that I had been warning her (and you) about for years, but she had not seen in person. During a couple of transactions in Virginia, at the hotel and a store where she bought some alcohol, the person requested her drivers license... she looked on quizzically as they used a scanner to run the bar code on the back of her license. After we left, she asked what that was about, I just said "welcome to the REAL ID Program that I have been warning everyone about", she was completely ticked off with the experience. Although right now most licenses have just basic info logged on them, later they will contain ANYTHING the State or the Feds want on it... and ANYONE with the proper equipment will be able to access it. READ, LEARN AND GET INTO THE FIGHT ON THIS... Contact your State Reps and DEMAND they drop this program and make sure you pass this on to others. www.realnightmare.org/www.eff.org/issues/real-idwww.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/4/reality-sets-in-for-states-on-real-id/www.ncsl.org/default.aspx?tabid=13577And of coarse straight from the horses mouth... www.dhs.gov/files/programs/gc_1200062053842.shtm

I may have to go today and see if they are carding us here in NC. Virgina AG is a constituionalist, he has his hands full with Healthcare lawsuit right now but he may move on this next. Chuck Baldwin beleives the States are the answer to ending this b.s.
We are working on a Verizon location with furniture, you should hear what the next Blackberry. All your credit card, bank account personal info, etc so you can walk to a scanner and id yourself and pay. Scary.

I have never been asked. Why would they ask for her license when she bought booze unless she looks young?

I crack the Vietnamese up as more than one wife is not uncommon there and amazingly accepted, but when one kids me about having another wife, I reply in Vietnamese "one wife is too many already."

I heard that, as the old saying goes... I can barely afford the one that I have now!
