"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories." -- Thomas Jefferson (WRSA. BT)"Civil Rights" & Total War, William N. Grigg "......as we see in the contrived controversy over Rand Paul's views of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, it is a grave civic blasphemy even to suggest that the Regime responsible for such murder and mayhem shouldn't have the power to scrutinize and regulate every aspect of private life."www.namsouth.com/viewtopic.php?t=3814freedominourtime.blogspot.com/2010/05/civil-rights-and-total-war.html

So much to comment on. Some sure to get me in trouble here.
First, Sherman was a war criminal and murderer of native Americans. There is no debate or differing of opinion on this subject. The facts are conclusive. He should have been tried, convicted and hung by his neck until dead!
Second (here's the one that will get me in trouble with everyone), time tested tactics of the US Military on suppression of rebellions and the masses surely will be used against the Patriot movement, Christians or any one deemed a threat to national security. Don't count on the military turning against any form of totalitarian regime, they we will fall in line and obey orders, even orders that contridict their oath. History proves it, from Sherman to Pershing to Dewitt and all the General's and soldiers in between. They all violated their oath to protect and defend as well as those they led when ask to employ tactics to supress the people. Whether it was Southern civialians, Native Americans, WWI War Vets, or American Citizens of Japanese decent.
I wish I could white-wash our history of the military oppressing of Americans by our government but history has a tentancy of repeating itself.
Those US Soldiers who have fought and died for Freedom's sake are the ONLY ones that should be remembered and honored on Monday, not those that have betrayed their oath.
And third, I applude William Grigg. I always like his writting and it is refreshing to see.

I am in your camp NC. I dont expect the military to revolt. At first anyways.
I hope and pray but I dont dare expect them. if they're on our side, all the better, but prepare like they're not coming, but welcome them when they do.

Nothing there to "get you" in trouble NC. Sometimes reality sucks but it is what it is and we have to deal with it. I've never been one to believe that our military would not fire upon us, they have been trained to follow orders, period. But, I am one of those folks with that cynical "disorder". Will the troops "come around" eventually? Maybe, hopefully and probably, but we will have an even longer row to hoe if we fall into the trap of unequivocally trusting the troops we encounter once the balloon goes up. There I go again, showing my "disorder".

The Bonus Army was not the first, or last time U.S. Troops fired on U.S. Citizens.
