Pat Robertson joins the "we can see it coming" party... As Dow Plunges, Pat Robertson Warns of Coming Economic MeltdownThursday, 10 Mar 2011 06:54 PM, By David A. Patten “I think we’ve got two years,” Robertson tells Newsmax. “I think the interest groups have set up such a loud clamor for their way. These public service unions, for example: They don’t want to give up anything. And look at Wisconsin. They’ve tried to stop collective bargaining, and lo and behold members of the Democratic majority absented themselves from the state so they wouldn’t vote. It’s that kind of thing.
“Well, if we don’t face it,” Robertson tells Newsmax, “I think within two years, our creditors are going to start demanding payment, the Chinese will start dumping dollars, and our dollar-denominated bonds. I think the Japanese will do the same thing, the Europeans will do the same thing. And it won’t be very long.”
Robertson warned that anti-U.S. speculative fever will hit very unexpectedly.Read Story: www.newsmax.com/Headline/dow-plunge-oil-pat/2011/03/10/id/389074

I think he maybe looking through rose-colored glasses. I think more like a year, tops, unless the Congress can begin to show some fiscal sanity. Also to consider, with natural disasters and unrest governments requiring liquidity may see selling T-bills as an attractive option. Just my two pennies.

Based on what I have read you are correct...we will not likely make it to Thanksgiving without a major crisis.
Sorry to be the Chicken Little folks...but the reality of what we are dealing with is not very pretty.
80% of our fruit and vegetables are purchased from Mexico and they just had a nearly complete crop failure.
Less than 10% of our population knows how let alone has space to grow their own food.
If that is not shit hitting a fan and then splattering on a wall...not sure what would be.
....oh and while I am on a rant....
Who elected this bastard anyway?

I doubt anyone here was dumb enough to. And definetly not so dumb as to admit it at this point.

My wife and I are putting in a graden for the first time in several years. We have plenty of room for it. In past times we grew and canned, froze or dried most of our vegetables and herbs as well. Got away from it whne we moved to NC becuase the first place we moved to had plenty of land but no suitabele garden space and then I was too busy at work. now it will be a priority to get the land turned over and ready to plant. the deer will get more than their share but in the past I learned to plant enough to share. With the eight bucks I ahd under my apple trees last couple years I think they may win the garden war.
You may think I am crazy but I do not think we will see the collapse come in the next two years. I think it will take 4-6 years for the poop to hit the proverbial air distribution device. Do not get me wrong I do think we begin to feel the crunch quite soon but I think the government will continue to try to keep it together and continue to expand their control because they think they will have to to save us all and becuase it has become the nature fo government to do so and we have accepted it for decades. The Republicans are really no different they just believe they should control you a little less than the Demoncrats, but ultimate control they still want to have. There are a few precious exceptions to that rule in the House and Senate but far too few to have a major effect.
I see they Republicans putting another moderate (leftist wannbe in denial) up for President in 2012 quite posssibly Romney who like McCain will try to take on a conservative VP to draw the conservative vote. Like many others who are just plain sick and tired of voting for the lessor of two evils I will not vote at all or vote third party if Ron Paul or a decent Tea Party canidate runs. In fact my prediction some time ago was Obama gets relected by a small majority because the Republicans fail to listen to the voice of the people again. Also we will be in the beginnings of a crisis here and world wide and people will be reluctant to change leaders in a crisis. Too many sheeple are still too easily lead astray and too many wolves in sheeps clothing looking to lead them. My prediction was the collapse will come in 4-5 years near the end of Obama's second term with martial law being declared. Then amidst false prophets rising to save us all we will see total collapse and civil war. Again prepare now becuase all along the way there will be possibel trigger points that could trip the balance and push us into chaos well before the senario I think is quite possibly the most likely.

You may think I am crazy... Well, since you asked... ;D As usual, I think your analysis is spot on, although the "battle lines" will flex and move, the clash is inevitable..

It sounds messed up at first, but I hope you're right. I hope we have that much longer. I think we could all use more time to lay in supplies, plant, and prepare.
