LOL, I can just imagine the, "oh *BLEEP*" all across the hill. I'm not a huge fan of some of his personal soap boxes, but his general view of government and his willingness to act on those views even to his own political detriment is just what we need right now. Someone in DC willing to put his future political career on the chopping block to not just put a stop to what's being done but try to push things a different direction rather than just back to the status quo. He's got the seniority, the widespread respect (and fear in the case of some political opponents) and the guts to make a real difference.
He might fail, and even if he doesn't it might end his career, but he'd probably be the first to say that he's had a long run and it is worth it to change this mudslide into something solid we can build with. Who knows, if he not just succeeds but doesn't get beat to a pulp politically in the process I might regain some faith in the political process. I think he's too old for a presidential run, and I'm not sure I like him for that job anyway, but as a congressional powerhouse he's just what we need.
