Exposing the Southern Poverty Law Center, Part I: Deception
March 27, 2017
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a so-called civil rights organization, is commonly viewed by the corporate media as the objective watchdog of "hate and extremism" in modern America. However, the facts show that it is nothing more than a liberal activist group.
Each weekday, the SPLC blog Hatewatch publishes a list of headlines which purportedly support the group's political positions and contention that "hate" is on the rise in the United States. However, the sources for the headlines reveal the SPLC's political bias.
For example, look at the Hatewatch headlines for Friday, March 17, 2017.
Among the nine national news outlets cited, only two (Gallup and the Associated Press) could even be described as mainstream media sources, while the other seven are far-left blogs, including Media Matters, Mother Jones, Huffington Post, Think Progress, and Right Wing Watch.

Exposing the Southern Poverty Law Center, Part II: Defamation
April 09, 2017
Last week, ResistanceMedia.org released Part I of a series exposing the Southern Poverty Law Center's fake news machine. Part I focused on the SPLC's extremely dishonest accounting of "hate groups" and its ridiculous overestimation of the reach of Ku Klux Klan and "Neo-Nazi" organizations.
Part II will expose an agenda that is arguably even more sinister. The Southern Poverty Law Center seeks to chill free speech by unjustifiably labeling conservative, nationalist, and Christian organizations as "hate groups." These characterizations are unquestionably accepted by the mainstream media, and have even been the catalyst for a domestic terrorist attack which the SPLC has not disavowed.
According to the SPLC, out of the 917 "hate groups" that are allegedly active in the US, 100 are white nationalist, 52 are "anti-LGBT", 101 are "anti-Muslim", and 100 are categorized as "general hate" - mostly "anti-immigrant" groups. The vast majority of these organizations are on this list because they have political views that the SPLC disapproves of. For example, not wanting America to become a minority-white country through massive immigration is classified as "white nationalism" and thus "hatred" - and opposing same-sex marriage or the transgender agenda will get you on the SPLC "anti-LGBT" list. Even acknowledging Islam's intrinsic ties to terrorism is called "hate" by the SPLC. Of course, disagreeing with the admission of Syrian refugees is a big no-no.
