By now everyone should have a few 'patriot rifles' to help out the dolts who didn't prepare... not talking about high-end weapons, but more like an inexpensive SKS, Mosin Nagant, etc. and a few rounds to go with it, they want better, then they should have prepared. A project I have been working on... Someone gave me a few VZ 52's in various working conditions, mainly damaged/cracked stocks... a little gunsmithing and three units came back on line, with the fourth becoming the parts bin and wood patch supply. Had to do some fairly in-depth wood work to patch 'em right, because no matter how well you do the work, it will ALWAYS be noticeable, luckily I am a big fan of painting weapons. So after a little internal 'support' gluing/nailing and a few good coats of ultra flat earth paint, they look great. One is totally complete, two of them are fully functional but missing magazines and Handguards, which I haven't been able to locate. Been thinking of modding some sort of cover to 'em, but I haven't really nailed down what to use yet. The weapons are chambered for the 7.62x45, which again, is in very short supply. But after a little research I found a company that builds chamber sleeves to convert the rifle from 7.62x45 to 7.62x39... Hell yeah! The last task is converting some modern mags to fit the other two weapons, some are converting AR Mags which takes some metal work, but I think I'll go the Mini-Thirty Mag route as they are already set up for 7.62x39, should be the easiest to adapt. I have never done such in-depth wood work before, so its definitely been a learning experience

Got the barrel sleeve in and gave it a test fire with the 7.62x39, shot 25 meters with iron sights and got a two inch spread, not bad for the first time shooting one of these VZ's, and more than adequate for the build purpose.
