h/t David at NC Renegade If you know some on the edge of waking up it would be a good movie for them to see. channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/american-blackout/?gclid=CP3_2o2itboCFSlo7AodaRMApQAmerican Blackout imagines the story of a national power failure in the United States caused by a cyberattack — told in real time, over 10 days, by those who kept filming on cameras and phones. You’ll learn what it means to be absolutely powerless. Gritty, visceral and totally immersive, see what it might take to survive from day one, and who would be left standing when the lights come back on.

Truth is a always relevant to your opinion.
Walfred
We all know that the largest threat to the PTB are the people of the States who feel the elected felons are just traitors who commit Treason on a daily basis.
Those of us who may have generators need to begin to create ways to run them indoors without killing ourselves. If the generator can be heard outside either some "ME FIRST" A$$H#$@ or the local Emergency Management will arrive and take it in the middle of the night. That is what happened here during Hurricane Hugo. Since the Internet will be down I wont need to operate one but 30 minutes every 4 hours to keep the fridge cold. Most of us have other means for cooking and heating.
They are selling a 2 meter square 85 watt solar system at Harbor Freight for about $250.00. The array can be adapted to parallel charge 4 12 volt batteries and they sell also a 1600 watt inverter. If you start now and replace all of those cheap Neon/mercury and incandescent bulb with the $14.00 led bulbs you will be able to read in the dark.
Problem will and is that the PTB in the communities have no handle on the folks on Dialysis, Oxygen, and meds that must be kept cool. The smell of dead bodies will begin about the 10th day of the blackout. They also have no plans to come get those bodies
The next problem will be that without electricity the utility providers (Water and Natural Gas) will stop pumping on day two as the cost of fuel for the generators will stop their profit. If you hurry here in NC the Agriculture support commissions sell a rain barrel with a faucet installed in the bottom 4" and an overflow pipe at the high water point. It has a screen over the top so a rain spout from your gutters will keep it full and the mosquitoes out, when not needed. ($35.00) and it is not an old chemical barrel that may kill you it is a made to order for them. While I may not like drinking what comes off my roof it will provide water to boil and flush the john, and bathe.
Prep or guess?

Brock my sister has a shallow well hand pump. It is old and would need overhauled. You have to prime the pump, because the seal is not great. They have kits for this. If you want, I can ask her how much she wants for the pump.

I would like to suggest a 20lb pig with the lantern extension. We have used this at camp for 12 years, we have found that a 20lb pig will last about 18 months. If used every night and limited to about 2 to 3 hours a 20 lb pig should last about 5 to 6 months maybe. I have about 10 stored away. I also have the lanterns and oil and have been collecting candles. Touching back on the propane lanterns, it still could be a long term source for affordable light.

Act fast before the EPA SS visits you in armor vehicles. Screw em!
