I surely do not have as much free time as I wish I had between work, family, preperations and helping the local food bank but I have set aside a portion of my free time reading the papers and speeches of our Founders trying to make sure that in my mind I have this whole issue surrounding Liberty in the proper perspective and to understand the disagreements that they had amonst themselves. Jefferson and Franklin have long been favorites of mine but as I read more of Patrick Henry's words and speeches I find that I agree with many of the arguments he put forth. Find below some of his thoughts on the Federal Constitution and the transition away from the confederacy of states that had been originally formed. It is in his second speech that he challenges "Guard with jealous vigilance the public liberty! Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel!" The atatched link contains alot of info on Patrick Henry's concerns on the formation of the federal republic replacing the existing confederacy of states. Definitely worth the read. It was printed in 1815 and so it carries little of the later bias applied to history. books.google.com/books?id=-WUiAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA1&lpg=PA1&dq=Patrick+henry's+speech+after+the+federal+convention&source=bl&ots=oyhkXEqIoX&sig=vnbnhHET9YLRQekCzA8nH6XL2pk&hl=en&ei=K8rDTuD4AsT3tgew7sGjAg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8&sqi=2&ved=0CEYQ6AEwBw#v=onepage&q&f=false < Repaired Link>
