Before you jump the gun go read some more. The story I read indicated that the cheating was indicated because of higher than normal scores among students who didn't seem to be on that level. It reminds me of an Ass chewing session I took part in at Ft Gordon Ga. I was a Platoon Sgt and thus had no duties having to do with teaching. However one of my troops came to me and asked if I knew anything about electronics. I admitted I did. He ask for help on a subject he was failing. I told him to ask his instructor. He said he had used up his quota of questions and after school remedial time. I agreed to answer any questions he asked as I didn't know what he was being taught. He asked questions and I showed him how to find the answers using calculus. The next evening I had 20 of them and did the same. The next day they took their end of cycle test and all passed. The next evening I was hauled into the Brigade Commanders Office and met some fat sorryass Civilian with a DR. title who told the Colonel I was conducting classes and had caused them to have to withdraw the test and not graduate the class. When asked why he was told that because I helped my platoon it had skewed the curve, and too many people passed. He ask the Colonel to give me an Article 15 for violating the instructors code of ethics. I reminded the Colonel that as a Platoon Sgt I was required to help any soldier who asked me for it. The Colonel told the Civilian I had done no wrong and perhaps if his instructors, who were also in the Brigade, were to teach it better than all students would pass and it would save the Army money. The Civilian informed the Colonel he was the decider of that as he held the PHD in Education and the Colonel was out of this specialty. The Colonel sent everyone home and spoke a few minutes longer with the Civilian. He left in a huff so I was okay. I have seen this happen 3 times here in my area schools where the State assumed it was cheating when too many people of certain ethnic back grounds passed the tests. Look before we leap!

No, Atlanta has had this coming for a long time, they spend more in ATL on students than anywhere else... around 14k per student and the graduation rate still sucks... ATL has been tail end charlie on the scholastic tests for years... incompetence rules the hallways in Ga.
