Botched Paramilitary Police Raids: An Epidemic of "Isolated Incidents""If a widespread pattern of [knock-and-announce] violations were shown . . . there would be reason for grave concern." —Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, in Hudson v. Michigan, June 15, 2006. An interactive map of botched SWAT and paramilitary police raids, released in conjunction with the Cato policy paper "Overkill: The Rise of Paramilitary Police Raids," by Radley Balko. www.cato.org/raidmap/

Not all of the murders by police are listed. I know of one where they shot my cousin when he was handcuffed, claimed he charged them with a kitchen knife, and got away with murder in Kentucky. The county coroner said the marks on his wrist showed he was handcuffed when shot. The first shot was to his back, because it was a straight shot, then the coroner changed his story after being visited by the State Police Thug who shot, my cousin. My cousin knew those thugs were protecting drug shipments. The State Thugs had even warned my cousin to leave Kentucky, or they would kill him.

I don't trust State Troopers in Kentucky. They can shoot someone for almost any reason and get away with it. I do trust our Sheriff's office to protect the people.

Holy crap, are there any good stories out there of cops not shooting dogs, raiding the wrong house or just beating the crap outta innocent citizens? Man, if I did not know better, I would think the police were a four letter word and the enemy.

We need Andy Griffith back. We're the Only Ones... waronguns.blogspot.com/2010/03/were-only-ones_02.html

Man, if I did not know better, I would think the police were a four letter word and the enemy. Come on now Fergus, you know that BAD news sells and will always trump ANY good stories. You have been away a while This type of behavior typically makes many folks "forget" all the good cops out there. How's the saying go? One bad apple.... This is a microcosm of society in general, all groups have this problem. I'm a truck driver, and some of the things I see "drivers" do on the road makes me understand why the general public thinks we are a bunch of uneducated, unprofessional idiots. Minority groups have this same problem, roll through the hood sometime and check it out. They are all dressed like gang bangers, so what is the public to think? Are they all gang bangers? Of course not, but, if you play the part, perception will not be on your side.

Yes, there are good officers out their, they work each day and do what is right, so they normally don't make the news. It is sad there are so many of the other type who make those honest public servants look bad.
