Get Woke Go Broke... the only thing Walmart does is make it convenient, start using smaller stores even if you have to drive a little more, even a small subtraction from sales snowballs when you are a large corporation.
Walmart Bans Some Ammo Sales, Open Carry in Stores
By Melanie Arter, September 3, 2019 5:06 PM EDT
(CNSNews.com) - Walmart announced Tuesday that it will no longer allow customers with open carry permits in states that allow them to openly carry firearms in their stores, and it is discontinuing sales of certain ammunition.
In a letter to Walmart associates, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon cited the recent shooting massacres in El Paso, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; and most recently in Midland and Odessa, Texas, as the impetus for the changes.
“A month ago, in El Paso, Texas, a gunman with an assault-style rifle launched a hate-filled attack in our store, shooting 48 people resulting in the loss of 22 innocent lives. Just a few days prior, two of our associates were killed by another associate in our store in Southaven, Mississippi. And hours after the shooting in El Paso, our country experienced another mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio. This weekend brought tragedy to Midland and Odessa, Texas,” the letter stated.

In recent days, in rapid succession, retail giant Walmart, the Kroger grocery chain and Walgreens pharmacy, as well as CVS and Wegman’s Food Markets, all announced curbs on open firearms’ carry on their premises, with exceptions, that is, carved for law-enforcement officers.
What a clash of Constitution and capitalism.
The stage is being set for a showdown between the Second Amendment and the free market. And given the number of shootings in recent times, the frustration and fear of the citizenry and the all-courts-press of the Democrats and left to crack down on gun rights, come heck or high water, the fact is America, on Second Amendment freedoms, is marching toward tough times.
We’ve let business stick its nose where it doesn’t belong.
Walmart is already backing down from an open carry ban in the face of heavy criticism...
Walmart’s Gun Decision Is Less Political Than It Looks
By Josh Barro, Sept. 6, 2019
Much of the coverage of Walmart’s decision to step back from the guns and ammunition business has focused on how the company is (or is not) aligning itself with its customers’ political and social views. I get why people reach for this frame, since it’s the right one for looking at a lot of the polarizing choices corporations have made lately: Nike’s ad campaign with Colin Kaepernick; Gillette’s choice to urge its customers against toxic masculinity; Equinox’s efforts to distance itself from one of its owners’ political activities, and so on.
But I think this story is different in an important way, and that focusing on the political frame will lead to a misunderstanding of why Walmart made the choice it did.
Walmart has been leaving everyone in this area alone, most have not changed their use of open carry, still see about the same number of citizens carrying...
Gun rights activists test Walmart request not to open-carry guns into store
By Rebecca Klar, 09/10/19 08:55 AM EDT
Gun rights activists in Texas are testing Walmart’s request not to open-carry in stores by doing just that.
David Amad, the vice president of Open Carry Texas, told The New York Times the 38,000 members of his group have openly carried their guns inside Walmart stores since the retailer announced last week it is “respectfully requesting” customers to no longer openly bring guns into its stores.
He said none of the members who have done so have been asked to leave.
“They are ducking the issue,” Amad told the Times. “They are trying to get the gun haters to leave them alone, while at the same time leave us alone when we carry in their stores.”
An Open Letter to Walmart, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, Aldi, Albertsons, Safeway, Publix and any Other Company Planning on Pandering to the Leftists Scaremongering over Open Carry
By DarkStar - September 12, 2019
I will keep this short and simple.
I do not care to provide security for your stores anymore.
Now, I’m not saying, I currently WORK as an EMPLOYEE for your companies, what I mean is this…
When your stores allowed open carry, and if something were to happen, I was willing to provide in-the-moment security, with my firearm. To protect your shoppers, your employees, your property and your interests.
I considered it part of the unspoken agreement. You agree to allow me to carry my firearm in the open, and if a situation arises, I will USE my firearm as it is intended to protect life and property.
