The "r"epublic as conceived of and founded has long been dead. Many of the founders like Jefferson felt they had failed in their attempt to establish Liberty. From the very beginning the money interests and the power mongers have perverted the concept of Rightful Liberty seeking more power and more control. Some like Patrick Henry saw the dangers in even the Constitution as it was the means of destroying the sovereignty of the individual states when it changed the focus to We the People from We the united States. The Constitution was only ratified when they original bill of rights was added in the hopes of shackling the central government it created.
But as always power seeks more power and control seeks more control so the decline began at the very creation of the central government itself and intensified in the 1860's with the total destruction of state's sovereignty and the subjugation of a free and independent people. We were once proud citizens of our respective states and those states were members by choice of a union whose only purpose was for mutual self-defense and monitoring fair trade amongst the states and other nations.
Long live the glorious Union. The Union became so important that it was deemed necessary to invade, conquer and subjugate the free people of sovereign states and to make each and every one of us servants to the glorious Union. The preservation did not free the slaves for in the end it made slaves of each and every one of us as we must pay homage and tribute to the powers that be that reside in Mordor on the Potomac. Obama did not create the problems we have and he is only another puppet moving us ever closer to the hard shackles of complete slavery though we have worn the soft chains of serfdom for well over 100 years.
We cannot vote our way out. We cannot petition our way out through the judicial or legislative systems. The system has become self-sustaining and only seeks more power and more control. I have no shame that my great grandfather served in the NH volunteers in the War of Northern Aggression and I honor his service but not those that were served by such a war. I am convinced that if he stood here today to see how far we have travelled down the road to complete and utter slavery he would totally agree with me that secession is the answer. "If first you don't secede; try, try again"...
