h/t Gunny G www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/12/23/paul-ryans-christmas-warning-american-companies-will-shut-without-foreign-workers/Paul Ryan’s Christmas Warning: American Companies Will Shut Down Without More Foreign Workers
In a Tuesday morning interview with radio host Bill Bennett, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) defended his omnibus bill’s controversial expansion in the H-2B visa program, which would allow foreign workers to fill blue-collar American jobs, by arguing that if the provision were not included, American companies would be forced to shut their doors. Bennett pressed Ryan on the details of the H-2B visa expansion, slipped 700-pages into Ryan’s 2,009-page omnibus spending bill—asking Ryan directly, “Do you believe there are not enough Americans to fill these jobs?” In response, Ryan described the H-2B visa expansion as “a very small, discrete provision.” Despite the nation’s high levels of unemployment and stagnating wages, Ryan continued on to assert, without offering evidence in support of his claim, that corporations are facing a shortage of labor, which rendered the provision necessary. Ryan said: The reason that this was passed is because there was some seasonal surge jobs that they can’t find local workers to fill, like the seafood packaging industry in Chesapeake Bay. You have seafood season, you need people to package those things, to can them. In the North, we have the summer tourism industry. What it is is there’s seasonal industries where they can’t find local people to do the jobs: kids are already in college or things like that where you have a surge in workers. Ryan explained that the provision was passed specifically “to help small business who cannot find labor when there’s a surge in demand for their labor like seafood processing, or tourism.” Ryan warned, “The point is these businesses would have shut down without this and that’s what we didn’t want to see happen. We didn’t want to see businesses, who are seasonal, shut down because they couldn’t get the labor. That’s why this provision was passed in July.”

Politicians Without BordersJohn Stossel, Wednesday Dec 23, 2015 12:01 AM I once had lunch with Paul Ryan, R-Wis. He talked about reading Ayn Rand, and he emphasized the need to cut government spending. Now he’s the speaker of the House who just oversaw a record-sized spending bill that doles out money to both parties’ pet projects. Little of that is authorized in the Constitution, which was intended to leave to the people or the states everything not explicitly mentioned in the document. Today, we get a depressing combination of big, showy violations of constitutional rules — which distract us from the tiny, routine violations of constitutional rules. Individual freedom, and limited government, is better. humanevents.com/2015/12/23/politicians-without-borders/

Traitorous scumbags supposedly on our side... I liked Bevin, but he's an oath (and promise) breaking POS. I'm hoping he's a one term dirtbag... What happened to Kentucky governor Matt Bevin's Obamacare campaign promise?January 12, 2016, By Ed Straker Bevin could have told taxpayers the truth about the future costs. He could have kept his campaign promise. He could have explained that the Medicaid expansion was illegal. He did none of these things. So far, I don't see any difference between him, Rand Paul, or Mitch McConnell. www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/01/what_happened_to_kentucky_governor_matt_bevins_obamacare_campaign_promise.html

h/t Gunny G www.renewamerica.com/columns/zieve/160112GOP Congress critters would rather watch the USA die than give up power and extreme wealthIn my opinion, however, it is not necessarily a political party system that is to blame for our current enormous problems. Rather, it is an electorate that – long ago – left the running of the federal government to the "professional" politicians...so that it could grow unchecked in power, wealth (ours) and scope and eventually encompass and subjugate us all. It is also a citizenry, which in large part, turns up its collective nose and says "I don't follow or get involved in politics" because it sounds worldly and urbane to do so or – perhaps more likely – because of laziness. Governments built upon the concept of liberty, property ownership and the equality of pursuit of individual opportunity (to date only one comes to mind and that is the one now being summarily destroyed) cannot survive unless its citizenship becomes directly involved in its policy implementation. When American citizens did become involved in government, organizations such as Planned Parenthood abortuaries and a Bureau of Land Management gone rogue (and for all intents and purposes is now a mercenary institution reporting to the highest bidder) would not be allowed to exist. These – and other oppressive to the people that are now prevalent – would have been stopped in their tracks before their power became so great. By now, most of us should be – and I believe are – fully awake to the clear and present dangers which face our country and us. More and more are becoming active. Keep it up, grow you numbers and we might actually be able – with courage and lots of work – be able to pull our country out of the Luciferian Left morass. I don't, however, believe we can do it with the vast majority of those currently in power. Nothing less than a sea change is required. We have our work cut out for us. One thing about which we must remain cognizant is the vetting of our own candidates. Vote for honesty in packaging of the candidate/candidates this time. If they are caught in a few or many lies...don't vote for them. If they have supporters of Islam or other enemies of ours on their team...don't vote for them. If they have voted one way in Congress and now say they support the opposite side in order to obtain a State's primary vote...don't vote for them. We don't have any time left to support these sorts of candidate shenanigans. No more "business as usual" can be tolerated. Look at what we got the last time with a leftist media unwilling to vet their own candidate Obama. Another step – and I believe the most important if America USA is to survive in any form at all – is to rededicate this country to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to return to the principles upon which this country was founded. For those who graduated high school after the 1960s, those principles do not and never did include slavery or suppression. Remember that the "new" Obama-Principles do. We've done it in the past and we can do it again. It's time to take our Stand against tyranny, folks and time to take our country back...now!

Wake Up, GOP2016-01-14 18:01 by Karl Denninger You're a lying sack of crap. All of you. The American people are tired of it and Trump promises us something different. Unlike you, he doesn't need any more money. Unlike Ryan, he has more money than he can spend in three lifetimes. Unlike you, he's willing to call a spade a spade, including telling the truth about dangerous criminals coming here as illegal invaders and terrorists being given safe harbor as "refugees" or "immigrants", both of which we know factually occurred and which your party refuses to address. market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=231028

Republican-Led Senate Confirms Obama Judge Who Once Attacked Property Rights and ReaganJan. 19, 2016 6:41pm Fred Lucas The Senate voted 58-36 to confirm an Obama judicial nominee whose writings as a law student attacked both former President Ronald Reagan and former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, as well as as the concept of property rights. Asked about the writings during her confirmation hearing, Minnesota state Supreme Court Justice Wilhelmina Marie Wright, nominated by President Barack Obama to be a federal judge for the U.S. District of Minnesota, said her viewpoints were “inartful” and made before “all of the training and experience that I have now.” The conservative advocacy group Heritage Action urged Senate Republicans to block the nomination, asserting, “Confirming Justice Wright to a lifetime appointment on the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota is also the wrong response to this President’s recent overreach.” www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/01/19/republican-led-senate-confirms-obama-judge-who-once-attacked-property-rights-and-reagan/

GOP establishment seduced by 'LGBT' powerExclusive: Linda Harvey charges party leaders with 'going gay,' defying GodPublished: 26 Jan 2016, Linda Harvey Homosexual political operatives know how to use – or invent – dirty rumors. We’ve all seen how this is done. Ultimately, of course, the GOP’s cluelessness is caused by massive spiritual deception. It becomes imperative that we choose new conservative leadership in the White House who will set a new tone in this country: responsibility, respect for faith and constitutional freedoms, true concern for national security and a genuine heart for children. There is no future without morality, without children – without God. Let’s elect leaders – Republican, or maybe not – who walk the walk. www.wnd.com/2016/01/gop-establishment-seduced-by-lgbt-power/

Well imagine that... Rubio Spokesman Admits: Gang of Eight Bill Did Not ‘Secure the Borders First’by Julia Hahn, 30 Jan 2016, Washington D.C. In 2013, Rubio told Sean Hannity that his La Raza-backed bill would not grant amnesty until the border is secure. Rubio said: “I don’t think any of that [amnesty] begins until we certify that the border security progress has been real. That a workplace enforcement mechanism is in place. That we are tracking visitors to our country, especially when they exit.” Rubio told Rush Limbaugh that if that were not the case, he’d vote against his own bill. Rubio said: “If there is not language in this bill that guarantees that nothing else will happen unless these enforcement mechanisms are in place, I won’t support it.” Despite Conant’s declaration that “we’re not going to pursue a Gang of Eight style legislation,” Rubio has campaigned explicitly in favor of the core Gang of Eight provisions. Rubio has campaigned in favor of illegal alien citizenship, expanded refugee admissions, and expanded foreign worker admissions. Yet, despite this, Rubio is running an ad in Iowa claiming,“When I’m president, there will be no amnesty.” Similarly, to this day, Rubio’s website declares that “no one gets amnesty” under his Gang of Eight bill. www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/30/rubio-spokesman-admits-gang-of-eight-bill-did-not-secure-the-borders-first/

When you have to dig around a Republican's closet and start jettisoning their baggage in order to justify voting for them, you are voting for the wrong person. I watch people twisting themselves into pretzels daily trying to justfy voting for someone they KNOW will not follow through with what they have said/promised. Stop playing the GOP establishments game or the losses will continue to devastate the country. We all KNOW Rubio will not close the border and we surely know that well over 12 to 20 MILLION illegal invaders will get a free pass to citizenship from him. How do we know this? Ryan won’t back bill allowing 9/11 victims sue Saudi ArabiaBY Andrew Taylor, Associated Press April 19, 2016 at 11:28 AM EDT, Updated: Apr 19, 2016 at 11:42 AM WASHINGTON — House Speaker Paul Ryan is reserving judgment on bipartisan legislation to allow the families of Sept. 11 victims to sue the government of Saudi Arabia for any role that elements of Saudi regime may have played in the attack. Ryan said Tuesday that lawmakers need to review the bill “to make sure that we’re not making mistakes with our allies.” President Barack Obama strongly opposes the legislation. The GOP... Pushing the obamanations agenda forward since 2008. Senate Republicans block Lee Amendment, preserve AFFHPosted on May 20, 2016 by Paul Mirengoff The Lee Amendment to defund President Obama’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulation failed in the Senate yesterday because not enough Republicans backed it. The Amendment was tabled by a vote of 60-37. Jeremy Carl aptly describes this vote as a defeat for conservatism, community control, and common sense. It is a victory, as Carl says, for turning the federal government into a National Zoning board, forcing high density housing on unwilling cities and towns, and letting bureaucrats decide the racial, ethnic and income balance of local communities. Here is a list of the Republican Senators who backed this left-wing agenda (most of the names won’t surprise you): www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2016/05/senate-republicans-block-lee-amendment-preserve-affh.php

Ryan secures big win with bipartisan Puerto Rico deal By Scott Wong and Sylvan Lane - 05/24/16 06:00 AM EDT The bipartisan deal to tackle Puerto Rico’s debt crisis represents Paul Ryan’s first big victory as Speaker. While the Wisconsin Republican has notched other wins on highway, education and government funding during his short, nearly seven-month tenure, former Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a hand in all of those negotiations. The Puerto Rico pact, coming in the middle of a contentious presidential election year, is Ryan’s, and Ryan’s alone. The agreement to restructure the island’s $70 billion in debt fulfills a promise the Speaker made to Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Democrats during spending talks last December... thehill.com/homenews/house/280982-ryan-secures-big-win-with-bipartisan-puerto-rico-deal

Battle Rages as GOP Saves Obama Plot to Diversify NeighborhoodsMonday, 06 June 2016, by Alex Newman After some grandstanding to placate outraged constituents, establishment Republicans in Congress quietly voted to fund Obama's unconstitutional plan to fundamentally transform your neighborhood by bringing in more federally funded “diversity.” In short, if Big Brother's race-obsessed data-gathering machine determines that there are not enough poor or minority residents on welfare living in your city, town, zip code, or neighborhood, Obama wants to change that using your tax dollars. The scheme also sidelines states and borders by considering “regions” instead, a key element of the agenda to break down the traditional United States and its federalist system of government. But the battle is far from over. And Americans still have many tools at their disposal to block the scheming. For instance, the “Affirmatively Further Fair Housing” plot is contingent on successfully bribing local officials into compliance. As more than a few analysts have observed, that means cities and communities can easily reject the plan. Simply stated, all they have to do is refuse to accept unconstitutional bribes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). If the bribes (disguised as “grants” and so on) from a bankrupt Uncle Sam are refused, the strings they come attached with are null and void, leaving Washington, D.C., bureaucrats with no leverage. Some cities are already leading the way. www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/23352-battle-rages-as-gop-saves-obama-plot-to-diversify-neighborhoods?tmpl=component&print=1

This stripping of your privacy Rights by the REPUBLICAN controlled senate failed by ONE vote... and oh yeah, they're gonna hold a new vote to correct that little misfire. Senate rejects bill to let FBI search email records without warrantErin Kelly, USA TODAY 6:36 p.m. EDT June 22, 2016 WASHINGTON — The Senate rejected legislation Wednesday that would allow the FBI to search Americans' Internet browsing histories and email records without a warrant. Supporters invoked the Orlando massacre to push for the measure, saying it would help federal agents identify terrorist suspects and thwart future attacks. But privacy rights advocates said the bill's sponsors were using the mass shooting as a way to expand government surveillance and get around constitutional protections against unreasonable searches and seizures. Senators voted 58-38 to advance the legislation, falling two votes short of the 60 votes needed. The amendment by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Richard Burr, R-N.C., would have been added to a federal spending bill that included funding for the FBI. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., switched his vote from "yes" to "no" — a procedural move that will allow him to bring the legislation up again later. www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2016/06/22/senate-rejects-bill-let-fbi-search-email-records-without-warrant/86223130/

Immigration reformers eye Gang of 8 revivalSeveral members of the group that fell short of getting immigration reform into law are ready to try again.By Seung Min Kim and Burgess Everett, 07/05/16 05:25 AM EDT Lindsey Graham doesn't sugarcoat his prediction: Republicans are going to get thrashed in the November election, especially among Latinos. And it’s going to trigger another run at immigration reform in Congress next year, the South Carolina senator says. “I’ll tell you what I’m going to do in 2017,” the plainspoken GOP deal maker said in a recent interview. “I’m going to take the Gang of Eight bill out, dust it off and ask anybody and everybody who wants to work with me to make it better to do so.” Graham isn't the only one eyeing a revival of the Gang of Eight, the bipartisan group of senators that shepherded a sweeping immigration bill through the Senate three years ago only to watch it stall in the House a year later. Propelled by a Republican establishment eager to make inroads with minority voters after losing them by steep margins in the 2012 election, it was the closest Congress came in a generation to overhauling the nation’s immigration laws, Several influential lawmakers see another opening for immigration reform in 2017, especially if Hillary Clinton wins and the GOP takes another hit among Latinos. Mitt Romney was hammered for his “self-deportation” rhetoric four years ago. But that pales in comparison to Donald Trump’s vow to remove 11 million immigrants here illegally and calling Mexicans who cross the border illegally “rapists” and “murderers.” Gang of Eight leader Chuck Schumer is poised to become majority leader if Democrats take the Senate this year. And the New York senator already said immigration reform would be a top priority, most recently in an interview last week. The recent Supreme Court deadlock that left President Barack Obama’s controversial executive actions on hold demonstrated that, for now, major changes to the nation’s immigration policy will have to come from Capitol Hill. www.politico.com/story/2016/07/immigration-reform-gang-eight-225028
