Yeah, you would be wrong... yet again. Just out of one war zone and into another shit-hole that has absolutely NOTHING to do with our 'National Security'. World View: Trump Announces that U.S. Troops Deploy Near D.R. CongoCounting the votes in DR Congo, Africa's second largest country, has been a mamoth taskAFP, 6 Jan 2019 8:16 President Trump announced that U.S. troops will be sent to Gabon, in anticipation of “violent” demonstrations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) if and when the results of the December 30 presidential election are announced. The announcement came in a Friday evening letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: www.breitbart.com/national-security/2019/01/06/world-view-trump-announces-that-u-s-troops-deploy-near-d-r-congo/
You tell me what our direct 'National Security' concerns are in any of the countries on the following map, keeping in mind that this map is a few years old and we most likely have many more troops there than the 6,000 they are admitting.

Trump said a week ago that we are out of Syria. Now, not so much... Bolton: US Will Stay in Syria as Long as It TakesHe says there's no longer a fixed timetableBy Rob Quinn, Posted Jan 7, 2019 6:21 AM CST (Newser) – The timeline for the withdrawal of American troops from Syria has gone from 30 days to four months and now to no fixed date, according to John Bolton. He said "certain objectives" must be met before an American withdrawal could happen, the Washington Post reports. Bolton said there was no fixed timetable and some US troops would remain, at least in the south of the country. When he announced the withdrawal last month, a move that led to the resignation of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, among others, Trump said: "Our boys, our young women, our men, they’re all coming back and they're coming back now. We won." But on Sunday, Trump told reporters he "never said we're doing it that quickly." www.newser.com/story/269584/bolton-us-will-stay-in-syria-as-long-as-it-takes.html

Rand Paul: Donald Trump Pledged to End U.S. Wars in Syria, Afghanistan, Spend Wasted Resources at HomeMatthew Boyle, 16 Jan 2019 3:54 Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a leading ally of President Donald Trump, told reporters in a brief conference call after a meeting with the president on Wednesday that Trump is planning withdrawals of U.S. forces from Syria and Afghanistan and will instead reinvest U.S. resources wasted there in rebuilding the United States. In Syria, U.S. armed forces have been fighting the Islamic State or ISIS, a terrorist group that once controlled significant territory and resources, but the administration insists that ISIS has been defeated. As such, Trump is moving to withdraw all U.S. forces from Syria. In Afghanistan, U.S. troops have been at war there for nearly 18 years, since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, making it the longest war in U.S. history. While Paul was nonspecific on the details of the timeline and scope of withdrawal from Afghanistan, the senator from Kentucky said that President Trump did make clear to senators and national security officials on Wednesday he intends to end the war there too. Paul said: www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/01/16/rand-paul-donald-trump-pledged-to-end-u-s-wars-in-syria-afghanistan-spend-wasted-resources-at-home/
