Censorship in AmericaJohn Stossel, Wednesday Oct 14, 2015 11:34 AM Support for the idea that it’s good to hear all opinions, even offensive ones, is thin. A plurality of Americans now support laws against “hate speech.” Conservatives once wanted to ban Playboy magazine, violent rap lyrics and offensive depictions of Jesus. Leftists then were right to fight such bans, but today leftists encourage censorship in the name of “tolerance.” humanevents.com/2015/10/14/censorship-in-america/

And by the way, MANY on the Conservative side helped push the new 'thought police' atmosphere.
Have you railed against burning an inanimate object such as the American Flag, or hanging and burning an effigy as political speech or discourse... then you are part of the problem.
Have you been beat into submission over using words like Nigger, Wop, Spic, Wetback, Chink, Fag, Homo, Lesbo, or (insert your 'offensive' term or word here)?... then you are part of the problem.
Are you afraid of speaking out with an 'anti-government'/anti-politician bias?... then you are part of the problem.
It's not only the Progressives and Liberals that have pushed us to the position where you are afraid to speak your mind, you have done it to yourselves... and that is just as good as having physical chains binding you down.

Received through the Gun Control email from a member, most likely after viewing this thread...
"LGBT people are not your enemy."
You are incorrect, right now the entire 'LGBT' community as a whole is the enemy of freedom and liberty. I could list the many instances here but you probably already know 'em, so why waste our time with the minutia? You are not MY enemy per se but make no bones about it, the 'LGBT' community has made itself an enemy of America.

Good deal, peoples eyes are finally getting yanked wide open by the actions of the 'LGBT' radicals, the citizens are seeing how these unAmerican radicals are stripping everyday citizens of their natural rights and constitutional protections. Houston LGBT Nondiscrimination Ordinance Rejected By VotersNov. 3, 2015 10:56pm Associated Press HOUSTON (AP) — An ordinance that would have established nondiscrimination protections for gay and transgender people in Houston failed to win approval from voters on Tuesday. The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance was rejected after a nearly 18-month battle that spawned rallies, legal fights and accusations of both religious intolerance and demonization of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/11/03/houston-lgbt-nondiscrimination-ordinance-rejected-by-voters/

The Right to Tell the Government to Go to Hell: Free Speech in an Age of Government Bullies, Corporate Censors and Compliant CitizensBy John W. Whitehead, January 19, 2016 “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”― George OrwellFree speech is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it for those who are easily offended, readily intimidated or who need everything wrapped in a neat and tidy bow. Free speech is often messy, foul-mouthed, obscene, intolerant, undignified, insensitive, cantankerous, bawdy and volatile. www.rutherford.org/publications_resources/john_whiteheads_commentary/the_right_to_tell_the_government_to_go_to_hell_free_speech_in_an_age_o

Is the U.S. Government Now TRACKING ‘Right-Wing Extremists’?By Robert Spencer May 10, 2016 Maybe there is another explanation for why checking in for a flight has become suddenly problematic for me. But let’s take a rational look at the background provided by the Obama administration: the IRS targets conservative groups; the administration signed on to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s effort to compel Western governments to stifle criticism of Islam; the administration scrubbed the records of Muslims with jihad terror ties. Is the idea that this administration would keep tabs on public foes of its policies farfetched? Or is it a reasonable assumption? pjmedia.com/homeland-security/2016/05/10/is-the-u-s-government-now-tracking-right-wing-extremists/3/

Exclusive — Immigration Hawks: Facebook Engaging in Deliberate Suppression of Our Contentby Julia Hahn, 18 May 2016 In the past week, there has been much discussion about the allegation that Facebook is censoring its “trending” news stories based on political ideology. However, advocates for curbing immigration into the United States say that this is just the tip of the iceberg. The advocates claim that Facebook suppresses users who promote material which could undermine Facebook’s lobbying efforts for expanding the admission of foreign labor. They say that Facebook has ceased to be an impartial communications facilitator, but is now a “political combatant.” www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/05/18/facebook-censoring-content-critical-immigration/

Air Force veteran threatens suit after being bounced from ceremony mid-speechBy Perry Chiaramonte, Published June 20, 2016 FoxNews.com A retired Air Force sergeant who in April was dragged from a military retirement ceremony as he recited a traditional passage honoring the flag is demanding an apology and threatening a lawsuit. Senior Master Sgt. Oscar Rodriguez was invited to speak at the April 3 ceremony by an outgoing fellow master sergeant from the 749th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. In a story first reported by FoxNews.com days later, video showed Rodriguez being forcibly removed by service members at Travis Air Force Base. "This was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life,” Rodriguez told FoxNews.com. “All I wanted to do was honor Master Sgt. [Charles] Roberson, his guests, and the flag, with my speech." Rodriguez believes his recitation of an old version of "Flag Folding Ceremony Air Force Script," which was later scrubbed because of religious references, prompted his ouster. The version read by Rodriguez contained religious references. www.foxnews.com/us/2016/06/20/air-force-veteran-threatens-suit-after-being-bounced-from-ceremony-mid-speech.html?intcmp=hplnws

Obama Enters Media Wars: Why His Recent Attack On Free Speech Is So Dangerous & Radicalby Tyler Durden, Oct 15, 2016 10:00 PM, Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog, Control of the news media is an instrumental, key feature to any totalitarian government. In contrast, the primary reason this experiment known as the United States has lasted so long under relatively free conditions is due to the preservation of free speech (and press) via the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. In case you haven’t read it in a while, here’s the text: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Nowhere in there do I see an exception for “conspiracy theories,” but apparently Constitutional scholar Barack Obama has an alternative interpretation. As reported by AFP: Pittsburgh (AFP) – President Barack Obama on Thursday decried America’s “wild, wild west” media environment for allowing conspiracy theorists a broad platform and destroying a common basis for debate. Recalling past days when three television channels delivered fact-based news that most people trusted, Obama said democracy require citizens to be able to sift through lies and distortions. “We are going to have to rebuild within this wild-wild-west-of-information flow some sort of curating function that people agree to,” Obama said at an innovation conference in Pittsburgh. “There has to be, I think, some sort of way in which we can sort through information that passes some basic truthiness tests and those that we have to discard, because they just don’t have any basis in anything that’s actually happening in the world,” Obama added. “That is hard to do, but I think it’s going to be necessary, it’s going to be possible,” he added. “The answer is obviously not censorship, but it’s creating places where people can say ‘this is reliable’ and I’m still able to argue safely about facts and what we should do about it.” www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-10-15/obama-enters-media-wars-why-his-recent-attack-free-speech-so-dangerous-radical

Chilling Speech and Suppressing Religious Freedom: Time to Amend the Johnson AmendmentBy Tony Perkins | October 18, 2016 | 2:21 PM EDT Millions of Americans will go to the polls Nov. 8 and vote. These Americans are a cross section of society; they are diverse, with many different opinions, political views, areas of interest, and sources of knowledge that inspire their choices. Such a robust civil society is part of what makes our country great. This civil society and the organizations that compose it should be allowed to inform their followers with expertise that could help them choose elected officials. Who doesn’t want informed voters? Yet for decades a provision of the tax code referred to as the Johnson Amendment has prevented these organizations from providing such information. cnsnews.com/commentary/tony-perkins/chilling-speech-and-suppressing-religious-freedom-time-amend-johnson

Senate Quietly Passes The "Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act"by Tyler Durden, Dec 10, 2016 7:13 PM While we wait to see if and when the Senate will pass (and president will sign) Bill "H.R. 6393, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017", which was passed by the House at the end of November with an overwhelming majority and which seeks to crack down on websites suspected of conducting Russian propaganda and calling for the US government to "counter active measures by Russia to exert covert influence … carried out in coordination with, or at the behest of, political leaders or the security services of the Russian Federation and the role of the Russian Federation has been hidden or not acknowledged publicly,” another, perhaps even more dangerous and limiting to civil rights and freedom of speech bill passed on December 8. Recall that as we reported in early June, "a bill to implement the U.S.’ very own de facto Ministry of Truth has been quietly introduced in Congress. As with any legislation attempting to dodge the public spotlight the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify avenues of accurate information. Introduced by Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and Ted Lieu, H.R. 5181 seeks a “whole-government approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign disinformation and manipulation,” which they believe threaten the world’s “security and stability.” www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-10/senate-quietly-passes-countering-disinformation-and-propaganda-act

Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression, and Freedom of Assembly counter training from the usual suspects... LGBT Groups Protest FedEx Over NRA DiscountBy Jillian Kay Melchior | 10:48 pm, December 20, 2016 Several LGBT-focused organizations that support gun control will demonstrate outside of FedEx stores Wednesday to protest the discount shipping company offers to members of the National Rifle Association. A deal worked out with FedEx means NRA’s 5 million members can enjoy discounts up to 26 percent. “This isn’t like a senior discount,” said Igor Volsky, director of Guns Down, a group pushing to decrease the number of guns in the U.S. “This is a discount that empowers and subsidizes an organization that is actively working to make life more dangerous by gutting background checks and allowing guns in schools.” heatst.com/culture-wars/lgbt-groups-protest-fedex-over-nra-discount/

Christian Grandma Florist Fined for Not Working Gay Wedding Takes 'Last Stand' at Supreme CourtBy Stoyan Zaimov , Christian Post Reporter, Jul 17, 2017 | 10:28 AM Barronelle Stutzman, also known as the "Christian grandma florist," is now asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear her appeal to reverse a Washington court's decision earlier this year that found her guilty of discrimination for refusing to provide flowers for a gay wedding. The LGBTXYZ freaks have been pushing for this in the U.S. since they got their first peek out of the closet... U.K. gov't demands 'queer theology' in seminariesAnd for Sunday schools? They must include 'teaching of LGBTI beliefs'21 Jul 2017, Bob Unruh An executive agency of the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued a report recommending that seminaries include “queer theology” in their courses and that even Sunday schools teach “LGBTI beliefs.” The stunning document, released by Wilton Park, an agency of the Foreign Office, also recommends that the Bible be reinterpreted “to make it compatible with LGBTI ideology.” The Barnabas Fund, an organization that supports persecuted Christians worldwide, was surprised and more than a little worried. “The recommendations, if implemented, would massively reverse freedom of religion across the globe,” the group said. www.wnd.com/2017/07/u-k-govt-demands-queer-theology-in-seminaries/

American Leftists are going all out to silence ANYONE that does not espouse their ideology... Georgia judge suspended after criticizing anti-Confederate protesters: ‘Leave history alone’By Jessica Chasmar - The Washington Times - Tuesday, August 15, 2017 A Georgia judge has been suspended after he criticized protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, and across the country for trying to erase history by removing Confederate-era monuments from public grounds. Gwinnett County Judge Jim Hinkle, a former longtime mayor of Grayson, on Saturday called Charlottesville protesters seeking the removal of a 1924 statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee “snowflakes” who have “no concept of history,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. “It is what it is. Get over it and move on,” Judge Hinkle wrote on Facebook, in part. “Leave history alone - those who ignore history are deemed [sic] to repeat the mistake of the past.” www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/aug/15/jim-hinkle-georgia-judge-suspended-after-criticizi/

Mel Brooks: Blazing Saddles would never be made todayBy Rebecca Jones Arts correspondent, BBC News Mel Brooks, one of Hollywood's funniest film-makers, has told the BBC political correctness is "the death of comedy". He said Blazing Saddles, his Western spoof about a black sheriff in a racist town, could never be made today. "It's OK not to hurt the feelings of various tribes and groups," he said. "However, it's not good for comedy. "Comedy has to walk a thin line, take risks. The Social Media Purge And How It Affects Everyoneby Tyler Durden, Sat, 09/22/2018 - 19:30, Authored by Daisy Luther via The Organic Prepper blog, Just about every website owner I know is feeling personally victimized by the recent social media purge that has been going on. But here’s an interesting fact: it isn’t, as is widely perceived, just conservative voices that are being silenced. It is dissenting voices. It’s the voices of critical thinkers whose ideas run the gamut of philosophies who find that they no longer have much in the way of reach. This social media purge affects everyone, even people who are not on social media. It does so in several ways: www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-09-22/social-media-purge-and-how-it-affects-everyone

Why I Was BannedLaura Loomer, 30 Nov 2018 My name is Laura Loomer. As many of you may have heard, I was permanently banned from Twitter for life on November 21, 2018, and then I was banned for 30 days from Facebook less than 24 hours later, in another example of collusion by tech giants to censor conservative voices. What was my offense? Did I spew hateful, violent rhetoric towards anyone as we frequently see leftist celebrities and politicians do online? Nope. Did I post racist comments or call for genocide against a group of people? Nope. Did I incite a riot or call for the President to be assassinated, like Leftists often do on Twitter? Nope. I merely shared a fact. Yes, the truth can now get you banned for life from the Internet, in America, the land of the free, and the only country with a First Amendment right. www.lauraloomer.us/blog/why-i-was-banned

Conservatives face a tough fight as Big Tech's censorship expandsBy Donald Trump Jr., opinion contributor — 03/17/19 06:00 PM EDT As Big Tech’s censorship of conservatives becomes ever more flagrant and overt, the old arguments about protecting the sanctity of the modern public square are now invalid. Our right to freely engage in public discourse through speech is under sustained attack, necessitating a vigorous defense against the major social media and internet platforms. From “shadowbans” on Facebook and Twitter, to demonetization of YouTube videos, to pulled ads for Republican candidates at the critical junctures of election campaigns, the list of violations against the online practices and speech of conservatives is long. I certainly had my suspicions confirmed when Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, “accidentally” censored a post I made regarding the Jussie Smollett hoax, which consequently led to me hearing from hundreds of my followers about how they've been having problems seeing, liking or being able to interact with my posts. Many of them even claimed that they've had to repeatedly refollow me, as Instagram keeps unfollowing me on their accounts. While nothing about Big Tech's censorship of conservatives truly surprises me anymore, it's still chilling to see the proof for yourself. If it can happen to me, the son of the president, with millions of followers on social media, just think about how bad it must be for conservatives with smaller followings and those who don't have the soapbox or media reach to push back when they're being targeted? thehill.com/opinion/technology/434407-conservatives-face-a-tough-fight-as-big-techs-censorship-expands

Goodbye to the Internet: Interference by Governments Is Already HerePhilip M. GIRALDI, 21.03.2019 There is a saying attributed to the French banker Nathan Rothschild that "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes its laws." Conservative opinion in the United States has long suspected that Rothschild was right and there have been frequent calls to audit the Federal Reserve Bank based on the presumption that it has not always acted in support of the actual interests of the American people. That such an assessment is almost certainly correct might be presumed based on the 2008 economic crash in which the government bailed out the banks, which had through their malfeasance caused the disaster, and left individual Americans who had lost everything to face the consequences. Be that as it may, if there were a modern version of the Rothschild comment it might go something like this: “Give me control of the internet and no one will ever more know what is true.” The internet, which was originally conceived of as a platform for the free interchange of information and opinions, is instead inexorably becoming a managed medium that is increasingly controlled by corporate and government interests. Those interests are in no way answerable to the vast majority of the consumers who actually use the sites in a reasonable and non-threatening fashion to communicate and share different points of view. The United States Congress started the regulation ball rolling when it summoned the chief executives of the leading social media sites in the wake of the 2016 election. It sought explanations regarding why and how the Russians had allegedly been able to interfere in the election through the use of fraudulent accounts to spread information that might have influenced some voters. In spite of the sound and fury, however, all Congress succeeded in doing was demonstrating that the case against Moscow was flimsy at best while at the same creating a rationale for an increased role in censoring the internet backed by the threat of government regulation. www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/03/21/goodbye-internet-interference-governments-already-here.html

Facebook’s new chief lawyer helped write the Patriot Act‘Jennifer is a seasoned leader whose global perspective and experience will help us fulfill our mission,’ says Sheryl SandbergBy Russell Brandom Apr 22, 2019, 6:12pm EDT Jennifer Newstead, a Trump appointee who served in the Justice Department under President Bush, will soon be taking over as general counsel of Facebook, the company announced in a press release on Monday afternoon. Newstead will take over from Colin Stretch, who announced plans to retire last year. “Jennifer is a seasoned leader whose global perspective and experience will help us fulfill our mission,” Sheryl Sandberg said in a statement included with the release. But many are already troubled by Newstead’s history lobbying and legislating for more powerful electronic surveillance. As The Hill points out, a 2002 Justice Department press release describes her as “helping craft” the legislation. Notorious Bush administration lawyer John Yoo described her as the “day-to-day manager of the Patriot Act in Congress” in his 2006 book. www.theverge.com/2019/4/22/18511633/facebook-general-counsel-patriot-act-jennifer-newstead
