Our time is up

When our forefathers arrived on this land there were already people living here. Their history was long and fruitful.
They drank water out of clean streams. The hunted game where ever the walked.
They did not OWN any thing except their honor. Their time expired and they went to the back as our forefathers arrived and restructured the way things were done, and why.
I keep hearing people speak of the End of the united States. Some do so in remorse, and others sound almost gleeful about the impending doom.
We are watching a cycle. Nothing more. The earth does this on occasion. It has happened before, it will happen again. The difference is what you do about it.
I am over 68 yeas old. I have a limited amount of time left, but don't want to rush it being stupid. I hope the rest of the nation are the same, but realize they will not be. They will ride the pony all the way up until closing time. Then complain they were cheated.
If this nation is to survive this reset the people need to begin thinking as individuals, and not as a nation. The dreams they had of this Nation popping back are gone. Time only moves forward. IT never Pops Back. That is what we all need to understand. The future we have in front of us is a clean sheet of paper. We can soil it with graffiti of past dreams or we can make new dreams.
I watch these last groups of Immigrants, some legal and some illegal, as they rush in to try and seize the dreams. Many soon leave as they realize the boat is sinking and they have quarters below decks. Each week at the flea market I watch as young men and women, who I saw in the last year as they got off the farm Bus, spend their time at the market buying suitcases. They arrived with their old clothes in a plastic bag, but with the money they made on the farms they now need a suitcase to carry them back home.
I have even seen the local Cartel enforcers buying luggage. That is the state of the economy in a nutshell. The stores in the market used to be busy from the Immigrants buying what they needed for their homes, and americans trying to find that one thing that will let them get on the Antiques Road Show. Now these stores are opening late and closing early as the business eats more and more of their other income sources.
Trips to Walmart and Food Lion show low stockage in all areas. Many of the Fresh Greens show bruises from too much handling. The only thriving stores are the Gun Stores and Pawn Shops. It is now time to wake up and realize that it is not supposed to get better. Our turn is over.
So now what? If we look to the past we find only grey shadows, but if we stop and start planning to live quietly in our means we can still prosper.
We need to sit our kids down and discuss this with them. The old dreams and ways are gone. In a few years College will be a rich man's dream. If our kids are to eat regularly they need to learn trades. Teach them what you can, but prepare them.
We have to make the wives understand that every penny we make will need to be spent on Food, Shelter, and transportation to places to work.
We need to begin learning to live without internet, cellphones, and entertainment. Stocking our shelves with books and hobbies. Learning how to speak a couple probable languages.
We will drop like the old men and old women of Eastern Europe into gray faced relics. That is the way it was always meant to be. We no longer live in the the greatest Nation on earth. We live in our city , in our State. The way it was intended to be.
