An update stated that it would be scored. And that is the 'problem' with the NRA, the negative score should be a given, but no, the NRA has to be coaxed or embarrassed into doing what is needed. The NRA gave Harry Reid the 'score' (official NRA wink & nod) that put him over the conservative GOP competitor in his last election. So really, lets call a spade a spade... the NRA is not really on the gun owners side, they are on their own.

NRA not always “unflinching and unapologetic” for the Second AmendmentFri, 03/07/2014 - 3:15pm | posted by Jason Pye “For that fundamental human, the NRA stands unflinching and unapologetic and in defense of our freedom,” said LaPierre. “NRA’s 5 million members and America’s 100 million gun owners will not back down, not now, not ever. I assure you that.” The NRA, the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights organization, is an important part of the politics of the Second Amendment. No one can deny that. But while LaPierre presents the organization as “unflinching and unapologetic” on gun rights, the NRA has a history of being on the wrong side of the battle for freedom. www.unitedliberty.org/articles/16916-nra-not-always-unflinching-and-unapologetic-for-the-second-amendment

Gee who didn't see this one coming, they support Reid, McConnell and a host of other statist that will sell us out in a second when the wind blows left... NRA endorses McConnell in Ky. primaryApril 12, 2014, 10:45 am, By Rachel Huggins The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund announced Saturday it has endorsed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for re-election in the May 20 Kentucky primary. "Mitch McConnell is a true champion of our Second Amendment rights, leading the fight against President Obama, Harry Reid and Michael Bloomberg's anti-freedom agenda," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, in a statement. "Sen. McConnell’s steadfast support of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms and hunting heritage has earned him an A+ rating from the NRA.” thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/203404-nra-endorses-mcconnell-in-kentucky-gop-primary

Is NRA lying to members, or does it not remember its own alert? Earlier this week, GRNC documented assertions that incumbent Forsyth County Sheriff William Schatzman obstructed issuance of concealed handgun permits and imposed arbitrary requirements on applicants in violation of state law. Apparently in response to GRNC Political Victory Fund mailings against Schatzman, on Monday the NRA endorsed Schatzman, the endorsement letter for which can be seen at: Now, the NRA is justifying this endorsement by telling members who complain about the endorsement by, among other things, telling people Schatzman supports the repeal of our Jim Crow-era pistol purchase permit system. Unfortunately, that is either a lie or utter incompetence . The NRA, in one of its own alerts last year on House Bill 937, targeted Schatzman using his own words. paracom.paramountcommunication.com/hostedemail/email.htm?CID=20295807844&ch=6705FA7B8E4C76954A9D8D5CD1B5817C&h=b3ad587e28f26591b58a948ee1323780&ei=sX3AS-LdN

As usual the NRA jumps on the side of the lefty's and other idiots that would rather sit on their hands and let the usurpations continue unabated, I remember when they said the same of us before the Ft.Hunt and Gravelly Point 2A Rallies, Then again before the 2A Rally's in NC and GA... Heard the same thing before we confronted MAIG and the SEIU in ATL. In Texas the ONLY weapon you can now carry unconcealed is a long arm, so they have to push the bounderies until open carry of handguns is 'allowed', but count on the NRA to ignore that and give in to the fear porn the anti-freedom forces are pushing. Lets not forget the damage the NRA has already done to the Second Amendment to date... Don't know or you have forgotten, just read though the previous posts within this thread. NRA: Texas open carry rallies ‘downright weird’ and ‘scary’Posted on June 2, 2014 | By Lauren McGaughy AUSTIN — Starbucks, Chipotle, Sonic and other food and drink chains have an unexpected new ally in their recent decisions to discourage the carrying of firearms in their establishments: the NRA. On Friday, the NRA weighed in on a spate of recent open carry rallies across Texas, calling them “scary” and “shows a lack of consideration and manners” out of character in the Lone Star State. “Yet while unlicensed open carry of long guns is also typically legal in most places, it is a rare sight to see someone sidle up next to you in line for lunch with a 7.62 rifle slung across his chest, much less a whole gaggle of folks descending on the same public venue with similar arms,” the NRA statement read. blog.chron.com/texaspolitics/2014/06/nra-texas-open-carry-rallies-downright-weird-and-scary/#23911101=0

Frigging NRA... Bunch of unprincipled politician wannabes, caught with hands in the cookie jar again and trying to 'explain' their behavior for being on the wrong side YET AGAIN. NRA official disavows criticism of 'open carry' demonstrationsPublished June 04, 2014, Associated Press The National Rifle Association has rolled back an earlier statement criticizing "open carry" rallies in Texas in which gun rights advocates have brought military-style assault rifles into public places. Chris Cox, the executive director of the group's lobbying arm, said in an interview Tuesday on an NRA-hosted radio show that the statement was "a mistake" and that it was written by a staffer who was expressing his personal opinion. "The truth is, an alert went out that referred to this type of behavior as `weird' or somehow not normal, and that was a mistake. It shouldn't have happened," said Cox, who added that the group "unequivocally" supports open carry laws. www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/06/04/nra-official-disavows-criticism-open-carry-demonstrations/?intcmp=latestnews

Unnamed NRA Writer Pulls a ZumboWednesday, June 04, 2014 On May 30th, in a 1400+ word essay, an unnamed NRA-ILA writer ignited a firestorm against Second Amendment supporters in the opposition media. In a few badly chosen words near the end of the essay, the unnamed staffer gave the opposition priceless ammunition to smear open carriers. This should be a lesson to everyone to choose their words carefully. I do not know if editorial control was exercised. It is clear that the word choices were emotionally loaded and welcomed by those who desire a disarmed population. In other words, the unnamed writer pulled a Zumbo. gunwatch.blogspot.com/2014/06/unnamed-nra-writer-pulls-zumbo.html

Well, Well, Well now, the NRA finally takes note of the hard battle lines in CT. Where were they when the fight could have been easily won? Oh yeah, they don't take political sides... instead they give high ratings to some of the biggest gun grabbers in Congress just before critical elections, then jump in the fray after the heavy lifting is already done, or just outright capitulate... (We had to destroy the Second Amendment in order to save it) Why anyone would still be a member of this toothless organization, I don't know. Oh that's right, "they are the biggest dogs in the room" (allegedly 5+ million members), but if you refuse to unleash those powerful dogs, then really... what good is it having them? State criminalizes 300,000 gun ownersNRA-ILA | 6/5/2014 4:46:05 PM The scene above isn't from a foreign country. It's happening right here in America. Law-abiding gun owners in Connecticut were recently forced to line up and register their firearms with the state government by January 1 of this year. Now, citizens who either missed the deadline, or simply refused to submit to the blatantly unconstitutional law, are facing felony charges and up to five years in prison. townhall.com/postrelease.html?prx_t=99931534&prx_q=2922

The NRA’s Latest Anti-Gun CandidateWednesday, September 3, 2014 NRA A-rated Democrat Kathy Hochul, who is running for Lieutenant Governor in New York, has given her full backing to New York’s extremist gun control law, the SAFE Act. The NRA endorsed Hochul in her Congressional election in 2012 and also gave her an “A” rating. Now Hochul is embracing one of the worst gun laws in the country. rebelmississippi.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-nras-latest-anti-gun-candidate.html

Ad campaign removes ‘single issue’ excuse for NRA avoiding illegal immigrationDavid Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner, September 5, 2014 NRA has thus far avoided addressing any of that by falling back on the claim that they focus exclusively on the “single issue” of the Second Amendment in their political evaluations. That has allowed them to continue assigning “A” ratings to politicians who enable an amnesty agenda pushed by both the Obama administration and Tea Party-opposing Republicans, squeezing principled candidates out in the primaries to ensure only establishment-sanctioned match-ups on election day. That’s why the absence of NRA leadership in this discussion is so glaringly obvious, especially as there is no more grave threat to the long-term viability of political and judicial recognition of the right to keep and bear arms. www.examiner.com/article/ad-campaign-removes-single-issue-excuse-for-nra-avoiding-illegal-immigration

Frigging worthless NRA leadership, the only bright spot is people are waking up to how the NRA operates... and as this entire thread clearly shows they are more concerned with our checkbooks than our Second Amendment rights. Washington gun rights advocates wonder: Where is the NRA?By Reid Wilson September 11 at 6:00 AM The mere threat that the National Rifle Association might try to defeat a sitting lawmaker is enough to change votes on Capitol Hill. In just the past year, the gun rights group has helped save a supportive county sheriff in Milwaukee and helped recall two gun control-backing state senators in Colorado. But this November, some gun rights advocates are wondering why the NRA isn’t more overtly involved in the only state where voters will weigh in directly on their issues. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2014/09/11/washington-gun-rights-advocates-wonder-where-is-the-nra/

NRA’s ‘A-’ grade for Begich in Alaska Senate race endangers GOP takeoverDavid Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner, October 14, 2014 3:08 PM MST Begich was not the only so-called “pro-gun Democrat” senator given a pass by NRA to confirm anti-gunners. Among NRA “A+”-rated Democrats, Max Baucus of Montana voted for the filibuster rule change. Among those given “A” grades, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Martin Heinrich of New Mexico, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Robert Casey of Pennsylvania, Tim Johnson of South Dakota and Mark Warner of Virginia all supported Obama’s and Reid’s move to eliminate an important confirmation hurdle for anti-gun nominees. Those given “AQ” rating (based solely on questionnaires because they did not have a legislative track record) who then voted for the change included Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota (and Begich). Jon Tester of Montana, who scored an “A-,” completed the list of NRA’s high-scoring Democrats who enabled the vote to succeed. Simply put, it would not have happened without them. www.examiner.com/article/nra-s-a-grade-for-begich-alaska-senate-race-endangers-gop-takeover?CID=examiner_alerts_article

NRA fundraising email contradicted by group’s grade for key Senate DemocratDavid Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner, October 16, 2014 2:50 PM MST Those are fine words. They ring true, like something gun owners can believe in. Or at least they would were NRA not helping Reid, Schumer and Durbin hold on to power by declining to endorse AQ-rated Republican Dan Sullivan in one of the key races needed to flip the Senate. They would were NRA not giving an inflated grade to Democrat Mark Begich that fails to hold him fully accountable for two Supreme Court betrayals and a host of other bad votes on gun-related issues. They would were NRA not otherwise singing Begich's praises in the press to give him cover. It's not like we haven't seen precisely this cynical pattern before. www.examiner.com/article/nra-fundraising-email-contradicted-by-group-s-grade-for-key-senate-democrat

Here we are again... The NRA is again making back-room deals 'on our behalf' with the enemies of freedom and liberty. ATF classification compromise to redefine sporting use, ban certain ammo importsDavid Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner, April 10, 2015 4:15 AM MST “According to ATF, the agency has over 300 cubic feet of classification letters stored in file cabinets,” the report elaborates. As noted in my latest GUNS Magazine “Rights Watch” column, none of these have been scanned into a searchable database so that consistency of interpretations can be assured and conflicts identified and resolved. As that report was published 10 years ago, the thought of what it must look like today evokes nothing so much as the government warehouse at the end of “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” www.examiner.com/article/atf-classification-compromise-to-redefine-sporting-use-ban-certain-ammo-imports

When last we left NRA lickspittle and hypocritical spineless weasel Bob Owens.SSI, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 LATER NOTE: Gee, I guess I'm getting pretty tetchy in my old age. But unfair? Before I emailed Bob a copy of the above, I re-read it to make sure I was not slandering or libeling the man. Nope, I concluded. It pretty much describes his positions over the years. So I sent it. sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2015/08/when-last-we-left-nra-lickspittle-and.html
